Had insomnia last night so got up, cut some yarn, threaded some cards, and tried out a possible trim for our men's vests for #SokiuSvente.
Probably too wide and maybe not the right color. I used what I had that*might* make enough yardage for 8 vests.

This has become a Spring Ritual for me on the first warm day to dip my toes in the river. I rarely plan for it though and often end up waiting for the mud to dry on my feet or walking down stick-y paths with my shoes in hand.
A strong breeze brought the scent of lilies-of-the-valley to me and I knew the earth was awakening.
I hoped to avoid a calamitous fall, but found myself sliding and struggling for balance on one foot. I recalled the previous Spring when I DID land on my keister.
I finally was able to find tentatively sure footing at waters edge and thanked the earth and the river and the trees for Spring.
The river called to me. I didn't have time. There were things I MUST do. But it kept beckoning as I walked along the bank.
So I found a not-so-steep and not-so-muddy entrance and ventured my way toward it.
Removing my shoes, I stepped onto the slick mud that had recently shed its water.

Saturday was a beautiful day. Despite a crazy week and a foreboding hard deadline the next morning, I hadn't seen "my trees" in a week or more. So, passing by the park after running out to get supplies, I stopped.

Wool tablet weaving sample in amber, reds, and blues is stretched onto an Inkle loom, the wooden shuttle lurking underneath.
The card woven tablet from the previous image has been taken off the loom and trimmed. Beside it sits alternating colors of wool yarn in reds, darker greens, and a very pale celery green in place of the amber.
A little sample of a new weaving pattern, mistakes and all. The colors aren't quite right, so I present you with the alternate colors.
This is my first time using the Inkle loom for a tablet project.

If our justice system worked the way it is supposed to, plenty of women (and men) would be alive and/or undamaged. But go ahead and think we're good.
Many of us read news from multiple sources, including from European sources and independent news. We aren't tied to corporate media.
