Has any reporter done a deep dive into two of the most powerful people in Washington DC who seem determined not to use that power or even comment on current events?

Mike Johnson and John Thune could stop virtually all of the current chaos simply by putting their hands back on the wheel.

Clinics, Colleagues and Friends woke up around the nation today today to find their funding to offer substance abuse, mental health services and homelessness intervention services cancelled. 1.9 billion in programs earmarked for the vulnerable. But we have $$$ to buy Greenland?

CBS Pulled a β€œ60 Minutes” Story Because the White House Refused to Comment β€” That’s a Veto on Journalism Pulling a finished investigation because the administration refused to comment isn’t journalism. It’s submission.

If refusing to comment is enough to kill a story, then the government now has veto power over journalism.
That’s what CBS normalized last night β€” and it should scare everyone.

SOOGIA: β€œRepublicans pushing to limit what SNAP recipients can buy don't actually care about nutritionβ€” if they did, we'd be talking about universal healthcare and food deserts. You care about controlling the poor. You care about punishment."

Andrew stripped of 'prince' title and will move out of Royal Lodge The dramatic move follows weeks of intense scrutiny over his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Honestly, I don’t know why we’re saying this is β€˜justice for Virginia’. Once again, a woman has had to die before her allegations were taken seriously. There is no justice here.

There is a special kind of joy in celebrating neighborhood trick or treating when you grew up an 80s kid attending β€œHarvest Festivals” with biblical costumes and afraid your neighbors would razor blade your apples.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

Did you know that over 1.3M active duty service members and veterans rely on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families?

Now you know.

As I listen to Andrew Peterson’s tribute album to Rich Mullins this week, and am dreading my patients facing November with no SNAP, it a comforting to think that while much of Nashville sold out, Rich’s words still speak and he would have been anti-MAGA

Tennessee will not use billions of reserve dollars to cover SNAP if government shutdown continues The state of Tennessee will not use any of its over $2 billion β€œRainy Day Fund” to pay out Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in November.

The TN taxpayer funded rainy day fund is exactly for a time our pediatric, elderly and disabled neighbors need food access. Our state’s success and its economy depend on population health. #fundsnap www.wsmv.com/2025/10/23/t...

Joyfully attended No Kings Memphis with 3/4 of our kids. Grateful for them to see the courage of my neighbors advocating for the demilitarization of our city, the civil rights of our neighbors and restoring checks and balances.

Why Is ICE So Aggressive Now? A Former ICE Chief Explains. ICE used to arrest the β€œworst first.” Under the new Trump administration, β€œthose rules are gone,” says a former ICE chief.

A former acting director of ICE says that, today, immigration control is the highest priority of federal police agencies and the Department of Defense. If that is true, then the administration is inviting both domestic crime and foreign aggression.

Hot flashes are dumb. If all men had to work/parent/exist with random body temperature fluctuations and/or monthly pain events all the top minds of science would be tasked with addressing this problem. But women endure w/ insufficient resources & a failure of community to address the problem.

If you ever ask yourself β€œwhat would I have done β€œ if you lived in a time when people were being persecuted. You are doing it now. Are you resisting in ways you can? or complacently ignoring and justifying? Or worse- supporting? You are doing it now.

I am deeply saddened and angered by news that more NIH RIFs may happen next week. This is unacceptable, especially after NIH staff have worked nights & weekends to dig out from the backlog created by this admin's incompetence.

Tell your Congress people NIH needs its staff to keep delivering cures

It’s outrageous that Sec. Kennedy is trying to fire the CDC Director β€” after only a few weeks on the job β€” for her commitment to public health & vaccines.

The Sen. HELP Committee must hold a hearing with Kennedy & the CDC Director as soon as possible.

Vaccines save lives. Period.

Sixty years ago today, Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law - securing health care for millions and saving countless lives. As GOP politicians try to tear them down, it's up to us to protect and expand these programs for Americans who rely on them today and for future generations.

Forced Institutionalizing isn’t the way. Homelessness is not one thing. It’s former foster kids, AND those facing mental illness AND job loss ANd post incarceration crisis AND affordable housing crisis AND substance abuse. Criminalizing the poor is unjust.
