And this has been ruined by bringing back one of the most cringe, pathetic villains the franchise has ever made.
A huge shame, I was largely enjoying this.

But everything he claimed wasn't in "leave-it-up-with-no-revenue-to-you" status, it's full-on scorched-earth "get this off the internet" mode of being taken down, is my understanding.
I can't understand his motivation beyond him just being a massive prick.
Yeah, this is what I'm failing to understand. Why this one game, of all things?

It's also worth reading down this guy's comment chain: he was involved with the project and some of his Discord snapshots are telling of the care that went into this release. But because LLMs touched it at some point in some way, it'll automatically be the spawn of Satan to some. *shrug*
The hottest of takes (apparently): not a terrible idea. Taking drudgery out of work is exactly the sort of thing LLMs are supposed to be for; this project actually succeeded where 25 years of prior efforts haven't: playable EN Segagaga. The tools exist for another translation, but I doubt anyone will

MORTAL KOMBAAAAAT
(This just happened at the Olympics, this is a recording of an older performance)
Listening to Chaotix Case Files #3 at last (I've been busy). SoA sure have outdone themselves: Tangle is even more annoying than Charmy.
Would rather have had comic continuity kept away from the other media, tbh.
I've been indirectly reminded that twitter.com/yodooder/sta... is a thing and it's still as glorious as it's ever been.
as announced by online Sega history zine Beep21: Hideki Sato, the "father of Sega hardware" who stewarded the design of Sega's home consoles from the SG-1000 through to the Dreamcast & presided over the company from 2001~3, passed away on Feb.13 aged 77 π―π΅
R.I.P.
The amount Nintendo's managed to shift of these is staggering considering how there's still fuck-all on it that you can't already get on Switch (Bananza and MAYBE Mario Kart World aside). I'll probably get a Switch 2 at some point this year but I'm in no immediate rush.
The latest issue of Retro Gamer featuring Shadow Of The Colossus is on sale now. Grab it from newsstands or directly from us.
It also features several tributes to our friend Nick Thorpe.

Almost everyone who joins in the shitting on LRG has no idea what they're talking about or has never even used the company.
If you don't buy special editions - which you basically shouldn't, they're almost always worthless for ANY title no matter the maker - you don't have issues at LRG. Simple as.
"This code is nonsensical. Who's the fucking idiot who wrote this subroutin-" *sees comment dated 6 years prior with your own initials on it*
"Oh."
Kinda depressing how right I often am about things like this.
2026, throw us a bone for once?

It was a lovely service and a fitting tribute to Nik. All my best to his family and friends.
To Nik himself, my final farewell: So long, old friend. Thank you so much for everything.
I know Nik enjoyed the first one these guys did when they were using real hardware, but they sadly never were able to get a second working before his passing. I'll be trying my best not to lose terribly tonight on this emulated setup - come and join us.
Considering the community we met in over 2 decades ago, it'll have to be the big pieces he did for the Sonic-covered issues, in particular the deep-dive on Sonic 2's history, my favourite of the MD games. And a particular Endgame he surprised me with, a lovely present. Miss you, Nick.
Never ever trust any computer you don't own. Always keep local copies. Only way to be sure in our current hellscape.
A European Sega Dreamcast, powered on, with copies of Sonic Adventure 1, ChuChu Rocket, and Bust-a-Move 4 in shot.
Set the Dreamcast up for my Sunday games today: It's what @hkt3030.neocities.org would have wanted.
Miss you, Nik.
One of the best, and gone too soon. His work, and his memory, will live on. Rest In Peace, Nick.
Nik was one of my oldest and closest friends, I'm stunned by this news, it's a terrible blow. He was a wonderful person and I always enjoyed our meeting up at least once a year ever since we started that in 2003, and I was a regular in his Twitch streams. I will miss him immensely.
I just heard the news... I've known Nik for 24 years, we've been meeting in person for 22. This is a sledgehammer blow. Utterly devastated.
There's a guy on Retro who's got a thread going specialising in finding things like this out. Maybe worth an ask?
Yeah, this is what I figured. Might as well save the dosh, that's half-price Astro Bot effectively.
Well I'm running under the assumption there isn't, from what some quick research has said. In a shop now
It's currently Β£20 cheaper to buy a PS5 Slim Digital and a disk drive than it is to buy a regular PS5 Slim - does anyone know if there's any actual difference between the two once the drive is connected?
Saw a video along very similar lines at my parents'. Talking about UK Christmas sweets, a list of something like a dozen, in a nostalgia context of "ah, the moderns will not know them", with an AI voice reading the script.
Of the whole list, I think exactly one sweet is currently not being made.
