Giant god and goddess head carvings face the sunrise on Mount Nemrut. It's a giant tumulus pile with lots of statuary. Turkey
This is a Coast Guard HH-52a battened down for a coming storm on the USCGC Boutwell flight deck. I was the Flight Deck Safety Officer. Seas were 20 feet and ultimately built to 70ft in the Bering Sea. It's an amphibious helicopter with sponsons for water stability and a boat hull
This ancient, crumbling coliseum overlooks a precipice in the mountains west of Antalya, Turkey. The city of Termessos, and my favorite ruin. They had cisterns up there (1,000 meters), they had things dialed-in
Montana highway 28 on a cold, frosty day and with a skiff of snow. This is mile-marker 23 where I always make a pee pit stop when I'm headed home. The highway shoots across the bottom of the pic and into the fog
A small fish market off of Istiklal in Istanbul. The fish are all layed out in arcs and circles on circular platters
I mowed the lawn in Packwood, Washington and this immature mouse came out to munch (and would not be deterred). It's sable-coated with a white belly
When I lived in West Seatle I built a water feature with pond above and pond below, and a 2-foot water fall. The top pond had a large, flat rock that the water covered before it went over the edge and it was a favorite for bird baths. Here is a yellow-olive Wilson's Warbler coming in for a landing
