Police officials in Lafayette, Indiana, have arrested five people in connection with the nonfatal shootings of a local judge and his wife, and allege that the attack was part of a plot to halt a trial the judge was to conduct.
On Maternal Health Awareness Day, we recognize a stark reality:
Pregnant & postpartum women in the US face a serious risk of violent death, often from firearms.
This is a public health issue that demands attention to gun violence prevention, intimate partner violence, & systems that protect women.

We remember Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mom and community member who was fatally shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis on January 7.
