I think this might be on to something, and I suspect it lurks behind Labour’s current rhetoric of “tough choices.” A leader is the one who’s willing to hurt others for the greater good. So if you’re not hurting someone… you’re not a leader?
Universities don’t just reflect inequality, they can reinforce or interrupt it. The real question for leaders is whether access remains a core value or a convenient casualty.
This is stunning!
When he was about 5, my little brother drew Elvis with his guitar ...
(yes, it all looks a little unfortunate and the wink really doesn't help)
Of course it's only "low quality evidence" when you refuse to take patients, particularly those that belong to minority groups, at their word.
It is that easy to do the right thing. That easy to allow people who want to build a life and contribute to society. That easy.
The Labour government chooses cruelty because it wants to, not because it has to. It chooses to destroy lives.

“EXCLUSIVE: I’m the Palestinian Who Has Been in ICE Detention for Almost a Year”
Writing for Zeteo from inside of prison on International Women’s Day, Leqaa Kordia asks us not to forget the female detainees being held and mistreated in ICE detention camps.
Chaotic brain = chaotic notes 😂
I spent most of 2025 pregnant and then not pregnant, on repeat. Whilst I'd like to crawl into a hole some days, I'd also like to hold my head up high. That level of sacrifice and love is something that deserves celebrating.
And you bet I'm having pudding.
I feel so fortunate to be loved by this beautiful beautiful man.
1wk today it will be mother's day in the UK. This year, it's looking very different to how we thought and hoped it would, and how it almost was.
B has said he'd like to take me out, to celebrate me, tonight instead. On our own, in our own way and so I can still hibernate next Sunday as planned.
Found an empty sketchbook so I can make notes as I go!
Please watch this short film by Together, an organisation working for the full inclusion and celebration of LGBTQIA people, disabled people, GMH people, and so on, in the Church of England. I burst into tears halfway through …

I think it is probably very important to understand that if a man (or a woman, but less common) is an serial sexual abuser then they have probably been gaslighting their close family/intimate partner for years.
“Women related to male abuser” are also likely to be victims.
I was cool enough to start a petition that we have a debating team at school 😬
I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
Delightful!
Most of Brits polled are opposed to the UK joining Trump's illegal and disastrous war, but you wouldn't know that if you followed most of the coverage
Oh, that's fantastic! I'm really looking forward to learning more from him.
I agree!
I very much enjoyed it!
I first came across Zach on twitter. Very excited to now be reading his book!
I've not been able to concentrate properly all week - keep thinking about those children and their families. The photo of little Mikaeil Mirdoraghi waving to his mother before school that morning broke me.
Photo is looking downwards at a wooden table. On the table is a flat white coffee in a porcelain blue cup & saucer, a pastel de nata (with a strawberry on top) on a grey plate, and a the book (front cover showing) 'Better Ways to Read the Bible: Transforming a Weapon of Harm into a Tool of healing' by Zach w. People who have never worked in a prison have no understanding of just how dangerous it is for staff and other prisoners when an inmate is murdered. So sod off with your celebratory tone-deaf takes.
We have a criminal justice system which is underfunded and flawed. But celebrating vigilante justice is yet another move towards thuggery in line with Far-Right and other primitive belief systems.
Amen to that.
Not the only one, no. Definitely 'lightly fried' over here. I hope you're able to get some rest in the form that you need.
