Cold atmospheric plasma can rapidly inactivate adenoviruses in the lab. After 90 sec, infectivity in cell cultures dropped by ~96%. The key effect: plasma mainly modifies capsid proteins (where viruses attach to cells), while viral DNA showed no major changes.
