I just got an award at work for deleting thousands of lines of code.
Can confirm.

Iβve been singing this all day
Photo of a cuneiform tablet fragment shaped a bit like an irregular diamond. It preserves nearly 20 incomplete lines of text separated by a horizontal ruling
There's a broken cuneiform tablet from the Old Babylonian period, nearly 4,000 years ago, which preserves a tiny portion of a dialogue between two friends.
It feels a bit like the conversations I've been having for the past week, so I wanted to share it.
Ugh - I remember digging these at my old place; they are So Much Work.
(Congrats on getting it done)
We were promised robots punching kaiju. We got robots punching kaiju. 10/10, no notes.
societies typically talk about human cognition as working similarly to whatever is seen as the latest and greatest technology. thatβs why we currently describe the brain as a roguelike deckbuilding game about characters making their way up a spire
The thing they don't tell you is how the texture changes.
It's not all it's cracked up to be.
I have muted *so* many words. I just wanna see art and chat with my friends.
This video is the spiritual opposite of One Big Wife. I will not be taking questions at this time.
It's more annoying when they're correct, because then I have to cringe at things I actually believe and can't enjoy mocking them.
Keep is extremely useful for TODO lists; put anything you know you're going to forget to do later in a list.
Same here, but next week winter is coming back. I don't think we get to escape until at least April.
This was, like, 1992 or something - almost a decade before any country recognized same-sex marriage. I was definitely ahead of my time.
In a teen study group, my Conservative rabbi telling me that, unfortunately, there was no support for same-sex relationships in the Torah.
I later discovered that there were many schools of Jewish thought that did not agree with him, and I've since found a home in the Unitarian Universalist faith.
Local paper talking about a possible water pipeline from Lake Erie to the Waterloo region.
Apparently the solution we're going with is "What if a really big straw?"
"Disaster girl" meme image (young white girl looking at the camera with a grin while a house burns in the background).
Played the Mortal skin in Monsterhearts 2 last night. First time I've ever touched that playbook (or even seen it played I think?) and I am absolutely REVELING in the chaos. One of the most underrated splats in all of gaming.
First game coaching the Royal City Killer Uprising. Was only a scrimmage but we played like gangbusters. Incredibly proud of my team and my league. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds!
I just looked up where I used to live in Virginia. There weren't any playgrounds in walking distance. The city evidently just put in a big modern park but the vast majority of people would have to drive there.
I genuinely wonder if people living in sprawl (especially in red states) actually have public playgrounds though - not ones you can walk to.
There does seem to be much more public infrastructure up here and more time and opportunity to use it.
But yeah lots of places in the US also have parks with playgrounds. I suspect a lot of overbuilt sprawl in the US doesn't, or doesn't have ones you can get to without driving.
I was watching an analysis the other day where someone pointed out that Iran could effectively destroy several of the US's most valuable client states in the region by going after their water supply.
And up until this point they hadn't.
Let's see if that changes.
But also... this is literally just Canada.
This is the park two blocks from my house.
You don't get here by privatizing everything and throwing out all the immigrants.
You get here with health care and paid parental leave and strong investment in public works.
Also it took me like 20 seconds to post that reply, so yeah, shit's fucked.
Shit's just been variously busted for the past few weeks. Just random stuff stops working.
The far-right dudes can host as many round tables on college sports and NIL as they want.π€·πΏββοΈ
This is your periodic reminder that I was part of the group that got the NIL laws passed. No one in the government was going to protect Black athletes or women athletes, so we helped ourselves.
IT'S COOL HOW EVERYTHING SUCKS NOW BC 7 BILLIONAIRES HATE THEMSELVES
Lily has made an amazing video about how the NYTβs slide to the right is primarily a workerβs rights issue, itβs brilliantly researched - check it out!
Not for nothin', but I think people vastly underestimate how much coloring your grey hair does for older women.
I just started coloring again and I feel and look, like, ten years younger.
When he moves, he shall have our support from the North, if he desires it.
This is both art and good journalism; give it a watch.
