I will always remember him in one of the nicest love scenes together with Karen Allen in RoTLA when they made it onto the ship and he pointed to his elbow being the only spot where it did hurt to get touched and she kisses him there accompanied by the most beautiful love theme ever by John Williams.
Known as “The Stranger’s Case,” this monologue is inspired by a real speech delivered in 1517 by Thomas More, then the under-sheriff of London, who was trying to calm a riotous anti-immigrant mob incensed by the presence of foreign workers. The riots went down in history as Evil May Day.
That's one of the reasons that I left @linkedin.com and Xing, a similar German platform.
The trigger point for me was that I had to opt-out that they do not use my data for AI training.

In general I agree with you. I love the high speed tracks we have here in Germany. But this speed is only efficient when the distance between the train stations is relatively big. On top of this comes that the acceleration has its upper limits because of the friction of steel wheels on steel tracks.

Ich habe auch schon einmal die Mikro-Schalter in einer Maus ausgetauscht. Aber sie hielten auch nicht lange.
Mein aktueller Logitech Trackball ist von Anfang 2020, ich nutze ihn täglich zur Arbeit und bin immer noch sehr zufrieden mit ihm.

That's the reason that I left Linkedin and Xing.
The defaults were opt-in and not opt-out.
I came to the point that if I want to get in touch with someone then I can contact them directly. No need to go through a platform where I have no control what they do with my data or messages.
That's one reason that I moved away from MS's OS after 40 years using them last week. The other reason is their obsolescence policy of not officially supporting HW that has a TPM 2.0 chip and a Threadripper processor.
I know that there are ways to circumvent all these obstacles. But an OS is a tool that should work out of the box. My life time is too valuable to spend on bending around their dumb decisions.
I am looking forward to using my PC many years further.

I have a Threadripper proc with 12 physical cores, 64 GB RAM + TPM 2.0 module but it is not officially supported to run Win 11.On top of it, the toolbar is not moveable any more, the installed bloatware eg OneDrive and the need to have an MS account made it easy for me to leave their eco system.

Microsoft has just lost another long time user of their OS. After MS-DOS 2.11, 4.01, DOS inside OS/2 2.x Win95, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, 7 and finally 10, I moved completely to Linux Mint, because I think it is absolute not responsible to support their obsolescence policy.
