I'm not going to demonize someone who DOESN'T directly stand up for the victim, but it doesn't make it RIGHT to not get help of any kind. Like get *someone*.

In the fiction, people died because of Sir Pentious. That's...not completely inexcusable. There is cause and effect there.

Also: I'm also mentally ill, but there was a situation where I saw someone getting harassed and getting called homophobic slurs and I stood up for them because I knew it was the right thing to do. I don't expect everyone to have that level of bravery, but it was still the right thing to do.

Sir Pentious didn't do the RIGHT thing. It didn't mean his feelings weren't valid, but he didn't act morally. The moral thing to do when witnessing a murder is to report that murder even if you're scared. That's justice. Doing the RIGHT thing isn't always the easy or safe thing. He was a coward.

I remember being told in high school that watching someone being bullied and doing absolutely nothing was just as bad as bullying someone to encourage us as students (and people) to get help. Being scared of the bully is valid, but doesn't justify inaction when action can be taken.

We DO know that his self sacrifice resulted in his redemption. Based on that, we know that some kind of action needs to be taken in order to be redeemed. And it CAN be argued that Sir Pentious's inaction was complicity. The bystander effect is an interesting moral discussion.

Yeah. Sir Pentious literally had to sacrifice himself to be redeemed. If Vox and Valentino truly wanted redemption, imagine the amount of work they would need to put in to do that. And if they did put in that amount of work, then they would absolutely deserve redemption.

There's a difference in Charlie believing that everyone can be redeemed versus the people who WANT to be redeemed. Vox and Valentino deserve redemption if they truly want to change. They would have to put in the work for it. But I doubt they want to, so they wouldn't be redeemed.

You can even have those be the reason he's your favourite character because this is fiction. The best place to play around with villainous characters IS fiction.

He's not in Hell because he's a poor misunderstood bb boy. He knows exactly what he's doing. He's crafty, smart, full of himself, stubborn, and an egomaniac sociopath. AND IT'S STILL OKAY FOR HIM TO BE YOUR FAVOURITE CHARACTER
