I loved that dog immediately, even before i knew it shared my namesake, lol. If Faun ever decides he's done pulling sleds for good, I'm coming back to Tromso to adopt him.
I took a selfie with the good boy, but i don't do the whole irl thing online in public, so that's just gonna have to be for me.
so i ask about that dog and the guide says he's 11 years old, so some days he doesn't feel like pulling sleds... but today, he doesn't even want to wait on us! i thought she said his name was "Phone", but when we got back to the kennels, i saw they have nametags hanging from the harnesses: "Faun"
so we start going pretty quickly and one dog stands out to me immediately - not either of the two in front that keep mounting each other because they're both in heat - the black one in the rear that is one of the two most responsible for pulling... and is letting everyone know it wants to go faster!
I went dogsledding on my last day of my Scandanavia trip... and, as soon as we got to we kennels, i see there's a dog named "Faun". We don't get to choose our dogs because sleds are assigned by weight and i'm paired with a guide since i'm a solo traveler... but at least i got lead sled!
been seeing this when i look out of the window of my airBnB in Tromso, Norway... and i have made the joke every oldhead furry will think of to myself so many times, haha
