rest well, probably several hundred dollars. i hope it isn't too hot down in uefn hell.

i'm grateful for what it's given me, but i think i've finally grown out of it.

i will however, give epic games one FINAL benefit of the doubt. if they can make ONE wholly good decision that directly impacts me somehow, i'll give the game another shot. don't see that happening for a while, though.

lot, and i've even had a bunch of fun with it as recently as november with the simpsons season.

however, seeing epic games make stupid idiot decision after stupid idiot decision, and looking back on how i got to this point, i don't think it really has much left for me.

well, i said it earlier. i was eleven. i was still figuring things out. i wanted something to latch onto other than the mario 3d land cartridge i'd had since i became conscious, and i figured this was a good choice.

again, i would not give up my time with fortnite for the world, it's brought me a-

anyway, a skin who's never gotten anything in their five years of existence, and an oc who's supposedly inspired by them, looks nothing like them, and is also kinda homeless.

why was i ever convinced by this? what really led me to stay with this game that long and spend all that money?

-with literally anything going for them, who wasn't yet another self-insert hastily turned oc, and i was gonna shove em into a crowd for set dressing.

honestly me never doing anything with them at all is a nicer fate then what they were originally going to be.

keep in mind, that drawing up there, that was made today. this character came from 5 years ago. i was *eleven* at the time of their creation, so they did not look good.

by the way, you wanna know the best part?

i was gonna make them a BACKGROUND CHARACTER.

the single character i had at the time-

The random character i made back in 2021, that was subconsciously inspired by Meow Skulls from Fortnite. they're just kind of a guy with an ice cube for a head, and the ice cube has messy black hair for some reason.

Oh, but what about the design i made? surely they've got to be good?

of course you don't. i never even used them for anything.

they were way before the DanSoCool era, and i left them behind when i burnt down the metaphorical city my old ocs lived in.

so, what fortnite skin was so good from C3S4 that i just had to keep playing?

...given the fact i'm me, i'd be shocked if this wasn't the answer.

Meow Skulls never got any sort of new cosmetics. she was in some trailers, shorts, and a loading screen, that's it.

we're off to a good start, right?

I bet you guys are wondering what they character was, or what the design i made was. must've been some impactful stuff if it got me to play a game near-everyday for like 5 years, right?

oh-ho-ho, i'm glad you asked, cause i really think it helps tie this whole thing together.

they could do that'd do me much good. sure, there were a few collabs leaked that aren't out yet that i like, but those are in jeopardy due to that one leaker overstepping boundaries.

Hang on, one more thing. remember how i said i originally got into the game?

I don't want to live in the world where i never played this game. it's, overall, done me more good than harm.

however, looking back at all this, what real reason do i have to *keep* playing?

most of the collabs i really wanted in the game have already been added. I don't think there's anything -

this game has given me so much. it got me into vocaloid when the miku collab came out, it got me back into my favorite game ever, lego dimensions, and fortnite is responsible for most of my early growth on this very website.

the skibidi toilet fortnite collab is why i'm here today. that's horrible.

36 wheels, 16 trails, 20 boosts, 17 basses, 27 guitars, 9 drumkits, 7 keytars, 9 microphones, 74 fake lego sets...

...and probably negative several hundred dollars.

i have spent 3460 hours of my life on this game. what do i have from that time?

well, regardless, if this game could be a modern version of that, that would be incredible!

it's available on my newest console, and i'm already having a blast with it, so why not!

I continue playing. seasons come and go. collabs release. i have some fun.

and here we are, five years later.

I also hear a lot about this game having tons of crossovers, with all these characters and franchises! It almost reminds me of a game I remember playing way back when.

one i had a lot of fun with, but couldn't play anymore due to having lost most of the stuff i needed for it. what was that game...?

-redownload the game to get them. I have tons of fun with the new season, i buy the battlepass to get all the characters, and i even get to experience a live event. most of the community think it was awful, but i have a lot of fun with it.

i think, "if these are lows, imagine the highs!"

-and i put together a design that strikes me as familiar. it takes me a moment to realize, but they must've been subconsciously inspired by that fortnite guy.

I think, "oh, that's neat. This game i had fun with inspired my own work. maybe i should pick it up again to get that character!"

month or two later, i guess i'm watching some fortnite leak videos about the next season for fun. I see a skin i like the design of, i think "oh that's a neat character".

the next day, i'm making random character designs for fun-

y'know, that fortnite vbuck news really has me thinking about why i even got into the game in the first place. 🧵

first season was latter half of C3S3, downloaded it because it was free and i didn't know what else to do. it was one of like 10-15 games i had at the time.

i'm a lifelong nintendo fan who plays tetris and fortnite with youtube videos in the background. i feel like i would have to undergo therapy before i could play hollow knight

does anyone else have that thing where theyre scared/hesitant to try new things because they've seen the impact it's left on other people and theyre worried it won't have the same effect on them/they won't have any deeper thoughts coming out of it?

cause that feelings been utterly ruining me lately
