Thank you! I was hoping someone would work on this. Been curious
Itβs one good step but unless the multiyear funding is significantly diminished it will be another year of significant declines in funded grants.

Congrats @erikherzog.bsky.social Really nice work
I think some folks might be happy to see this. NIGMS MIRA R35 for EI/NI has been published. PAR-26-121 files.simpler.grants.gov/opportunitie...
It would work!
So sorry. Bad streak

Also be sure to read the instructions a Forms I SF424. These Fs will have the new format/review instructions so there are different components from the previous NOFOs.

Cancer induced FoxP1 expression in muscle reprograms muscle clock output. Why does this matter? By co-opting normal clock output, FoxP1 is disrupting homeostatic pathways important for muscle health. We posit that this clock disruption could be a factor contributing to cachectic outcomes.
Its taken a few years but finally had science fun collaborating with @andyjudge24.bsky.social, @sarahjudge.bsky.social and the talented postdoc @jbducharme.bsky.social with support from Miguel Gutierrez-Monreal. Cancer and the muscle clock. 1/ www.cell.com/cell-reports...

βGiven the very real consequences for our competitiveness, our standard of living and, yes, also our bottom lines, we all ought to be making the case for aggressively funding basic science.β

Congratulations!!!!
I am happy to see 5 of the Regents of University of Michigan write this piece in support of university independence.

Great talk!
@dadapisconti.bsky.social presenting her work on neutrophil elastase in muscle regeneration. Great science presented along with good humor
Awwww, just hang out more at UF
Well, some of us might think those cells hanging around - terminally differentiated ones like muscle fibers and neurons- provide a significant amount of continued identity.
Nice morning at La Chua trail with my muscle and clocks friends before the meeting starts. Jake Chen, Clara Peek and Mattia Q. Lots of gators out sunning themselves
Looking to conduct research in molecular biology and genetics? Come join the Kardon lab! Looking for lab tech to help research the role of stem cells in muscle development and regeneration and determine the effects of viral infection on muscle. Funding independent of federal resources. Please share!
