Assistant Professor of American History | McPherson College
McPherson, Kansas, McPherson College seeks an enthusiastic student-centered professor to join the History Department for the 2026-27 academic year as an Assistant Professor of American History. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.ย
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for providing 24 credit hours of undergraduate instruction in both the History major and general education program. Teaching responsibilities will include both halves of the American History survey sequence. Outside of required courses, the history department provides ample opportunity to develop new courses in areas of specialization or interest. The McPherson College history department focuses on skills-based learning in line with the American Historical Associationโs Tuning Project.
The person in this appointment will maintain regular office hours, attend faculty, division and department meetings, advise undergraduate students, assist with new student recruiting, participate in the governance of the college, and perform other duties within the scope of this position as assigned.
