Love your calm down tactics!!! When I'm stressed, my wife will look at me and say "Murder?" which *I* know means "wanna read or watch a murder story?" Weirdly, saying that while in the bleachers ("Murder later?") gets a lot of strange looks though...
Don't be fooled by this bill's name-- this is a book banning bill that will exclude LGBTQ books from all public schools NATIONWIDE.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

If only there was some kind of popular TV show out there right now that could demonstrate LGBTQ+ books can be a license to print money if publishers had the backbone to stand behind them.
This idea of setting politics aside is a hot button for me, in all honesty. We aren't disagreeing over Coke vs Pepsi here. It's equality vs fascism. That's not compromise territory.
I find the notion of this horrifying. Our political differences are not mild at this stage. One side wants to protect the climate, reproductive rights, education, diversity, and other voted for a regime that ended repro rights, the dept of ed, and funds a secret police force. There is no "middle."
