Hays Code was self enforced! So was Comics Code Authority! These weren’t laws and look what still lasted DECADES and destroyed careers/freedom of expression. US comics industry never recovered from it bc comics aimed at adults still aren’t a thing, that’s why manga filled the market gap.

It's not just gas prices that are surging thanks to Trump's war.
Fertilizer costs could rise too — and send food prices skyrocketing.

Showing the sitting mayor of Canada’s third largest city a printout of an offensive AI slop image to confirm whether that’s the image he saw that led him to accuse a councillor of a crime, is possibly the weirdest thing I’ve ever done at work. And I once wrote about a merkin art exhibit.

Remember a couple of years ago when they were claiming that people should be retraining as "prompt engineers"? Don't hear too much about that any more.

They say 'the machines of the future' will be as smart as people... OK, but WHICH people? Because it kinda matters quite a bit.

Vancouver rolls out slower speed limits in six neighbourhoods
The City of Vancouver began rolling out 30-kilometre-per-hour speed limits on residential streets in six neighbourhoods on Wednesday.
This is big! The default speed limit in #Vancouver is being lowered from 50 km/h to 30 km/h on streets without a centre line. The vote took place last year; the roll-out is now happening in half a dozen neighbourhoods. #visionzero
