i /am/ a big believer in religious freedom however, which is uhh.. really hard to maintain with ..*gestures to everything*

I dont discuss religion with my family anymore. My views will be shot down and shamed, and its a battle i'll /always/ lose.

im turning 31 this year and the guilt i feel for quite literally EVERY aspect of my life is STILL an /hourly/ struggle. It may not be religiously charged anymore, but hoo boy it messed me up big time.

I dont think there was any time where I genuinely believed in god/christianity growing up. I was put in sunday school, expected to attend church etc.
I was also brought up in a VERY guilt-forward family, which catholicism obviously had its roots in. I left that behind as soon as I was confirmed.

I think this falls in line with the frustration I have with Americans. As a whole, the lack of action boils down to "I hope someone else will make this better" and then the thought just.. ends there.

Tbh: I think everyone should try to make the thing they want or commission once (if necessary, at small scale). And get involved in how stuff is made, and how it works in general.

It takes a lot of misunderstanding and uncertainty out of everything, and replaces it with genuine appreciation.

I also switched CPAs last year (I do not feel confident filing myself) and I feel like my records are just a mess right now. I've got to do some serious re-organizing this year and I would rather do literally anything else.
