Seems broadly right. 20+ years in (mostly HE) ed tech & reading about the issues has meant Iโm increasingly cautious with my own teenagers access to technology, as well as my reliance on it. There are so many experiments being done on this generation of kids.

Thatโs great, glad it was helpful ๐ Pieminister are a Bristol thing but all those are local independent places. Hope you have a lovely evening! Itโs the light festival too (if it isnโt too rainy to enjoy it).

Some mid-price small venuesโฆ Moltobuono (Park St) is good cosy pizza. Pieminister (Broad Quay) is very Bristol even if they do have London branches now. Dhamaka (Clare St) is a good Indian. Watershed is big and can be noisy (& food can vary a bit) but itโs a Bristol institution & a wonderful place.

Graph comparing my results to overall. Turns out Iโm mildly sceptical / pessimistic.
Compare how you evaluate probabilities with how others do - found this really interesting probability.kucharski.io?utm_source=s...

For me, reformer was slowโฆ maybe 6 months to feel vaguely competent, a year before my neck pain was largely cured. Have an great teacher, 3-5 person class, and it never felt that bad even when I was rubbish.

It's an amazing achievement. Not having met you but having seen you speak - I'd also have expected it to put you in a much better position. Virtual hugs & I hope the fates sort themselves out and deliver you something better soon.

It's incredible - so much communication for so little information. The best thing about my eldest leaving primary school was being able to delete their app.

My dad thought maybe the 1920ยดs. The motor busses came in in 1918 and tram route along Prince of Wales Road isnโt on the map (we think) & was built in 1927.

It doesnโt. Do you have any ideas? I wondered if it was 30โs because of the motor bus routes.

Sheffield and its environs, a map showing transport routes.
Picked this up in a Bristol charity shop some time ago and finally got round to framing it today. A beautiful map of a beautiful place and I love the priorities in the key.

Tried to take a photograph of a spiders web in the golden light - but it was invisible on camera. Is it harder to take pictures of the ephemeral now? Iโm sure older phones could deal with sunlit webs.

It was the online for me anyway. Hope the in-person goes well too! Love that people are still willing to share what they're doing - the sector hasn't become something totally different.

Found the links in a favourite newsletter don't work (and haven't for several issues). Worked out today I can fix them by waiting for them to time out then editing the URL from buttondown-0000.com to buttondown.com. Vaguely wondering if I'm doing a Bad Thing.

The plan also identifies five key areas - referred to as the โfive big betsโ - where innovation can make the most significant contribution:
1. Early Diagnosis: Improving detection rates and outcomes
2. Personalised Care: Tailoring treatments to individual needs
3. Digital Health: Empowering patients and clinicians through tech
4. Data-Driven Improvement: Informing better decisions across the system
5. Supporting the Workforce: Equipping NHS staff with innovative tools and approaches
Our 5 big bets
1. AI to drive productivity, supporting patient choice and liberating staff
2. Wearables to make care 'real time' and become standard in preventative, chronic and post-acute treatment
3. Data to deliver impact, flowing seamlessly and securely to enable earlier diagnosis and better health research
4. Genomics and predictive analysis for pre-emptive, personalised care starting at birth
5. Robotics to support precision, transforming patient care from surgery to rehabilitation
Getting mixed messages about the NHS's 5 big bets from these two sources: innovation.nhs.uk/news/10-year... and assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/6888a0...
