While short, I did appreciate Noriko's arc of going from a weak girl to a determined hero who sacrifices her youth for sake of humanity. It is cool to see the seeds being planted for all my favorites. From Evangelion to Gurren Lagann, it all started here.

Gunbuster - The origin of the famous Gainax pose and Hideaki Anno's directorial debut. The animation is beautiful and its wild Gainax was able to pull this off in 1988, even today it holds up spectacularly-

Hello fellas, it has been a while! I've been hard at work on the Mario Kart video. I've had some life setbacks like a nasty cold back in December so that's why this video is taking longer than expected but it is shaping up nicely.

I never understood the "Anti-Metroid" take for Prime 4 as Metroid (and not to mention Prime) has proven to be malleable. Sometimes the experiments are hits, others are misses. Prime 4 is without a doubt representative of the latter but that doesn't make any less Metroid than the others.
Another banger video from the goat. Quite a reasonable and well-made critique that's not just the regurgitated talking points. And as always, The editing and presentation is super clean. Definitely should give it a watch if you haven't already ๐

During development of Metroid Prime 3, Retro Studios briefly humored the idea of adding an open hub world to the Metroid formula, but ultimately decided against it.
In 2025, Retro finally realized their vision in Prime 4... just in a much different (& worse) way.

Sankarea - Talk about an absurd concept, but zombie girl romance wasn't half bad. My enjoyment was definitely benefited from Maaya Uchida voicing Rea, but I was still pleasantly surprised. Read the manga after wrapping up the anime, wish fulfillment for all zombie bros out there

See You Tomorrow At The Food Court - The beauty of the mundanity and friendship. Wada and Yamamoto's chemistry is precious, they're both silly goobers (Wada is so awesome). Definitely the fastest I've binged something in a while. Reminds me of how much I love Slice of Life

Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo - A delightful zelda-like wrapped in the aesthetic of the Game Boy Advance. It genuinely feels like a relic from that era, I love the GBA startup and it running in a faux GBA. This game really scratched that itch for a 2D Zelda, easy recommendation.
