No. Or they think revealing their problems to strangers will be required. No. This ritual is not therapy or a discussion group. Staying safe as a woman means constantly checking what’s going on around me, as I walk down a street. Yesterday, from a distance, I saw three guys on the same side of the sidewalk as me. They took up the entire width of the sidewalk. I debated as I assessed the landscape, Will I have to walk around them, will they step aside, I don’t want to walk through them and be surrounded by them, is anyone else around to help me if there’s trouble, will anybody else help? We got closer. Two of them were dark-skinned and wearing sunglasses. One was white, wearing a medical mask. They walked confidently. The tallest of them said, “Hi, Francesca.” I exclaimed, “I was wondering who those hoods were! And then I realized I know those hoods!” We laughed hard.

The mass deportation is not deportation at all. When people are captured without due process, that's kidnapping. When they are sent to another country against their will, that's human trafficking. When they're put in a prison with no way to get out, that's a concentration camp. Stop calling it deportation!!
