Removing race from kidney function algorithm helped more Black patients access transplants Removing race from the eGFR had a big impact, resulting in 5.3 more kidney transplants per 1000 Black candidates.

This is great health equity news for something Black health advocates knew would happen if change happened. www.statnews.com/2026/03/10/k...

if the US government logs these trees at the rate / quantity they're proposing, we'll lose one of the last old-growth forests. there's no coming back from that. if you have five minutes to leave a comment pushing back against the BLM, please do; there's a guide to that below.

Stand With Minnesota Stand With Minnesota is a hub for supporting, learning, and taking action to support Minnesotans impacted by ICE and federal enforcement.

March rent is past due, and thousands of Minnesota families can't leave their homes to earn it.

@ziibiing.com and an entirely volunteer team built standwithminnesota.com from the ground up.

No org. No funding. No bureaucracy, and no delay. Just people who saw a crisis and started moving.

Was searching online for an eggy crepes recipe, and I can't say I'm disappointed for this being at the top of my results.

As a grown up "syrup on everything" kid, I can get behind this recipe

Might not be the best decision in the sense that anyone could pick up the handle and impersonate him. But for regular people who don't have to keep up a public image, I fully agree.

Ideally, turn off your phone completely before attending political activities or crossing the border. That usually encrypts your device which makes it more difficult to read the data on disk. Not always a perfect solution but a better one.

Really awesome article about AI and education. I love the discussion around decoupling the feeling of learning vs actually learning, and how discomfort is often required for learning but understandably avoided when given the opportunity with AI.

More like make friends with your local farmers and make sure you can trust their honesty and cleanliness long term. Shorten that supply chain, because you can't live until old age from one panic buy in your freezer

I take the stance that boycotting is only for those who can. I have elderly family out in the country that realistically need a service like Amazon to save them aching bodies, money, and time.

If you believe avoiding Target will harm your community, I hold no grudge 🀷

Target's foot traffic keeps falling amid boycotts and slashed DEI effortsβ€”and it could be a problem that 'isn’t going to go away' for the retailer, expert says Target’s traffic slump began in the first full week after itΒ announcedΒ it was dismantling its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts.

Not to mention AWS, it's the leading cloud provider. It's been scary every time they have an outage because you can see all the other companies that are crippled because of it.

What bothers me is all the science around vaccines is free on the Internet. You can find it explained hundreds of different ways, down to the biochemistry happening in your body, and yet some choose fear over knowledge.

Right, I was calling back to the original post and lamenting how even if they are worth the cost, many families will not be able to pay the price.

With a quick Google, I can't find any kids clothes besides pajamas that are made from American grown fabric...

06.04.2025 06:19 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

It's worth it if you can afford it. I can't imagine trying to clothe a whole family with that price point. That's like $1000 for a week's worth of outfits, that will need to be replaced at least once a year for growing kids.

Soylent is mostly just a soy protein shake with added vitamins and minerals. Most of the flavors have a pretty similar "beige" taste, but I like the chocolate mint.

They also have caffeine versions which work really well for breakfasts.

40g protein is hard to beat for sure!

I still order Soylent from time to time πŸ‘€ Their marketing on college campuses really worked on me, and life doesn't always give me enough time to make a proper meal.

I am curious about Huel Hot and Savory meals, I've heard the recipes are hit and miss.

Day Owl makes really high quality sustainable backpacks. For a while they even tried to take in old bags of any brand, repair them, and then resell to reduce waste. They don't give the vibe of a Trump supporter imo.

Seriously if you're in the market for a good commuter backpack I highly recommend

I loved @anhdangerous.bsky.social 's original artwork so much that I had to make it myself. It houses an OEM PsOne, with a handful of mods, including a functional (but not comfortable) Claw Based controller.

Maybe I didn't find this groundbreaking because I already feel the weight of masking as influencing so many of my unhelpful mental traits πŸ˜…

I think I also assumed that most people mask (sometimes categorized as code switching etc) and felt it the same way I do.

I have heard it helped many and I'm thankful it has! It was just the top recommended book and I was disappointed that it made me feel more alienated than accepted

My disclaimer is that I listened to the audiobook which is spoken by the author (maybe my anxiety interprets their flat affect as more hostile than intended?), and that I only got to halfway through chapter 5.
