A big thank you to @clairelinney.bsky.social for visiting another 2 partner schools & helping develop a love of reading. Wonderful to hear her inspiration behind becoming a writer and learn more about Black history. We loved hearing the children's ideas for their own time travelling adventures

Our volunteers have supported 201 children in Years 1-3 with their reading. One says: “I think it's v important that L2L2R isn't just about learning to read, but about learning to love to read. I enjoy the time I spend with children I read with and enjoy celebrating the progress that they've made.”

With so many other things to do, it can be hard to encourage children to keep reading over the summer holidays. Try some of these simple ideas to fire up their enthusiasm and maintain the wonderful progress they’ve made over the school year.

We had the pleasure of hosting a very special author
at Heathmere Primary School with the utterly inspiring author, women's and refugee rights activist Onjali Rauf. Parents, children and staff learnt why she wrote her first book 'The Boy at the Back of the Class.' A morning never to forget!
