How naive of him to think that the Democrats would ever wield power in such an effective way!

Or, people would rather not vote at all than vote for someone supporting and arming a genocide. Perhaps Harris should have been trying to lead people in a more ethical direction.
He looks like heβs about to take delivery of the four element stones from the Mangalores.
Well that was basically what Clinton β16 and Harris β24 said. βVote for me!β βWhy?β βOrange Man badβ π€·ββοΈ
Or in the 2024 election, not voting, because what Harris was offering was so unattractive.
I can understand how comforting it is to refuse to accept any responsibility for what happens. However, thatβs the kind of thinking that leads to Trump winning twice.
I preferred him in Mary Poppins.
You donβt think that perhaps people voted for Obama because he promised he would do various things, then they noticed that he didnβt do those things and in fact, did some very much worse things, and so werenβt very keen to give him greater free rein?
You know that thing where someone uploads and downloads the same video to YouTube 1000 times and the quality slowly deteriorates until itβs impossible to watch? I feel like Biden is the final stage and Clinton is about 650 iterations in.
Always the fault of the voters.
When 99% of the Democratic Party organization is dedicated to preventing those stances from acquiring power, perhaps itβs time to acknowledge that ethical victories can only be achieved in spite of, not because of, the party. Ethics cannot flourish under a system designed to destroy them.
To be fair, what people say to gain power and what they do when in power are often very different.
These days, if you suggest nuclear war is bad, you get accused of appeasing Putin.
Also, someone did give him the evidence he pretended he wanted. Heβs all sound and fury, constantly bragging about what he COULD do but never actually getting around to doing it.
Itβs funny how the centrist liberals used to praise this βIβll do anything to winβ attitude whereas now itβs becoming even more clear that it means the man will break every promise and abandon every principle to maintain his position.
Isnβt this lack of accountability exactly the reason they got themselves into this position? They handed Trump his first presidency and their response was to let an obviously incapable 80 year old cling on way too long and then run someone who offered more of what people didnβt want.
Now do one with Palestinians.
It wonβt be long until the ICC is destroyed in the same way as the League Of Nations. The West will do anything rather than go against Israel.

If you could direct your gaze beyond the borders of the United States, you would see how foolish your question is. Today, for example, the US provided the only veto for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Itβs a shame the Democrats refused to understand that message.
A sad day for Hong Kong as the 47 are jailed for trying to participate in democratic elections. There are too many similarities to the UK where JSO and pro-Palestine protests are also being criminalized. hongkongfp.com/2024/11/19/b...
A view of the skyscrapers in Central Hong Kong at night, seen from Central Harbourfront. Their multicoloured lights are reflecting on the cloudy sky and giving it a silver glow.
Vincent Lam, seen on a tv screen, presenting the Symphony Under The Stars at Central Harbourfront, Hong Kong.
A lovely evening with the HKPhil and a familiar MC for a Symphony Under The Stars. Only a brief rain shower but the audience stayed to enjoy the fireworks at the end.
Are you going to nudge him to start posting?
Which football team would you like to see play that you have not yet seen?
Now to be heard from US liberals and the leaders of the Democratic Party.

The talk about how the left needs its own Rogan has died down a bit but hereβs an interesting article about it.

The media learns about as well as the Democratic Party establishment does.
A couple of hours on the MTR on a Saturday and I start questioning my faith in the essential goodness of humanity.
