Or, people would rather not vote at all than vote for someone supporting and arming a genocide. Perhaps Harris should have been trying to lead people in a more ethical direction.

Or in the 2024 election, not voting, because what Harris was offering was so unattractive.
I can understand how comforting it is to refuse to accept any responsibility for what happens. However, that’s the kind of thinking that leads to Trump winning twice.

You don’t think that perhaps people voted for Obama because he promised he would do various things, then they noticed that he didn’t do those things and in fact, did some very much worse things, and so weren’t very keen to give him greater free rein?
You know that thing where someone uploads and downloads the same video to YouTube 1000 times and the quality slowly deteriorates until it’s impossible to watch? I feel like Biden is the final stage and Clinton is about 650 iterations in.

When 99% of the Democratic Party organization is dedicated to preventing those stances from acquiring power, perhaps it’s time to acknowledge that ethical victories can only be achieved in spite of, not because of, the party. Ethics cannot flourish under a system designed to destroy them.
To be fair, what people say to gain power and what they do when in power are often very different.
These days, if you suggest nuclear war is bad, you get accused of appeasing Putin.
Also, someone did give him the evidence he pretended he wanted. He’s all sound and fury, constantly bragging about what he COULD do but never actually getting around to doing it.
It’s funny how the centrist liberals used to praise this “I’ll do anything to win” attitude whereas now it’s becoming even more clear that it means the man will break every promise and abandon every principle to maintain his position.
Isn’t this lack of accountability exactly the reason they got themselves into this position? They handed Trump his first presidency and their response was to let an obviously incapable 80 year old cling on way too long and then run someone who offered more of what people didn’t want.
Now do one with Palestinians.
It won’t be long until the ICC is destroyed in the same way as the League Of Nations. The West will do anything rather than go against Israel.
