They wouldn't even have to soundproof it
I think this venue is MADE for undergrad housing lol
That's it folks. See you at the next meeting.
Jo Ann: Public meeting on 24th. Need more time for public comment period.
Hector Rivera: Who did your pre construction
Jordan: Not bringing in a contractor for pre-construction management. Will go out for bids.
Public comment!
JoAnn Barbour: Are you committed to not having undergrad students?
Jordan: Maintenance & repair costs & complaints from neighbors go up with undergrads. But don't know if can keep them out.
BOLLARDS. That's what they are saying. I was like, why are they talking about bollocks?
Jacob Ramsey: Risk assessment about right turn onto Harvard Ave? Barriers to protect lines outside GS?
Brian Beisel: setting building back from the street = wider sidewalk. Will talk about other precautions.
Brad: Will there be a designated smoking area? [I made Brad ask this question]
Jordan: We will discuss this.
Wendy Schiller: Consider open graffiti space on graffiti wall?
Jordan: Still thinking over what graffiti wall will look like
Paul Armstrong: Maybe also use space for fitness, wellbeing etc
[hey paul, how about punk rock aerobics??]
Carl Lavin: Work with youth music orgs to have showcases and give kids the experience of a big club
Jake Dempsey: Create opportunities for neighborhood youth to ROCK?
Jordan: Great idea Jake. Venues are generally used 4-5 hours of day and sit the rest of the time. GS wants to work with local orgs to use venue during the day. GS is part of the community.
Brad: How to keep sound from bleeding between the two clubs?
Jordan: Structure-borne sound = bass gets into structure and vibrates building. Envision a bouncy house that is separated from the other building that keeps the sound from moving through or something like that.
Christine: Something about a contest
Christine: Provide details on soundproofing
Jordan: Hired an acoustic engineer with experience on residential over noisy stuff. Will create box within a box to keep sound from reverberating outside the club
Christine's dog: Gimme a cookie
lol there is a character limit I had to capture the spirit of the reply
Christine: Where will large vehicles load in/out
Brian: Off the street [I was getting pizza so I missed where]
Christine: where will band vehicles park?
Brian: We have to figure out where to put them
Christine Varriale: Plans to have loading zone for ride share
(thank you for not saying KISS + RIDE Christine)
Brian Beisel: Will assign short term or active loading for rideshare and food delivery
Lizzie Torres: Thoughts about adding artist housing? What will affordability look like in this building?
Jordan Warshaw: Artist housing is "personally close to home." But it is "not universally loved" & other people need affordable housing."
Lizzie: Nice try, make it happen
Jacob Ramsey: Why only 1 beds/studios?
Jordan Warshaw: No parking + above music venue = not great for families
Time for the IAG members to speak. Bring on the airing of grievances!
