Nice to ring at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Horwich today, 1 day after my late father's 100th birthday. My parents were married in that church 76 years ago on the 25th March. #bellringing #Horwich #Lancashire
New hydraulic clutch lift kit coming along nicely. Been a long and tricky job that has entailed re-routing the servo to rear axle brake pipe along the n/s chassis leg.
Quality motive power in the background, L&Y 1008, Radial tank the first loco built at Horwich Works, in 1889.
Lovely morning at Somerdale #parkrun. Big turnout in memory of Joan Gibson, former Somerdale RD, parkrun #volunteer stalwart and #Bitton Road Runner, who sadly passed away just over a week ago. Well done to Tina Dury and Lyndsey Miles for a great send off. Rest in Peace Joan.

How about taxing the rich to feed the poor? How about strengthening our ties with Europe? Everyone knows that Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster - play on these things. Work with and for the electorate, instead of victimising the disabled & trans communities. You know it makes sense

Watching the masses finish now, you can see it's taken a lot of effort and pain to get there, and they are full of pride in their achievement.
A marathon is a marathon whether you do it in 2½ hours or 6 hours.
It does irritate me when non-elites #running the London #marathon are referred to patronisingly as "fun runners". There isn't a lot of fun in getting up at 7am on a wet windy February morning for a 15+ mile run.

Volunteered at Pomphrey Hill #parkrun again yesterday, 120th volunteer credit and 94th at PH. Trying to do 2 volunteers for every run meant I missed out on the Bitton Road #Runners gathering at Ashton Court parkrun - the one I've been waiting for!
🧵I see there’s some howling going on about parkrun for the crime of being inclusive. I went to a parkrun book event the other day. There was a woman in the audience who is in her 90’s and has dementia. Her companion said that she loves parkrun, knows when she’s there and it makes her happy.
Why does no one talk about how toxic the running community can be, especially to beginners?
Stop labeling beginners by pace.
You run, therefore, You are a runner.

#Frenchay10K today in 1:00:03, that's four minutes slower than last year. Basically I am older, fatter and less fit than I was. Never mind, the new running shoes were good. #running

A touch of Plain & Little Bob Minor spliced, and a touch of Stedman Doubles with me affected last night at Frenchay. For the first time, I saw the Bob at the back, especially the coat hangers. Progress! #bells #bellringing
