happy mar10 day! finally making more progress with b-sides design (bugs made this level take longer than expected). really happy with how this level turned out! ending is subject to change, but figured i'd post for the occasion :)

Well I gave up on my indie game. I love hacks too much. But I promised @abelinkn.bsky.social I would post something, so here's a little teaser from the roguelike hack I'm working on.
Making stuff is hard, but sometimes people enjoy what you made. That is cool, but what is just as cool, if not cooler, is when -you- enjoy the thing -you- made. Make stuff that you enjoy simply because you enjoy the act of creating and want it to exist.
Also, don't use AI. That shit sucks.
i was gonna make this a lot longer and more complex. there was even gonna be a stickyfly and perpetual air catch in the middle of it. but nothing i tried really felt satisfying to pull off. i think the obstacle will look something like this, a lot simpler but still emphasizing what's important

wait if you permanently enable the mounted flag, and get knocked off by an extended sprite, the *living yoshi* runs away??? and this link is permanent. even if the lava yoshi fully despawns, the extended sprite collision will still make the living one run away

you can activate a keyhole without ever being near the key. you just need to have the riding flag set while overlapping a keyhole and another yoshi has a key in his mouth. this is also possible without this glitch, by making yoshi lick as he's hatching while hoping to not double tongue
What happens if a keyhole is behind yoshi? Or even more curious, what happens if a keyhole is on the path of the other yoshi? Can the game be tricked into remotely triggering the keyhole? I am guessing not, but it would be cool.
found a slew of new interactions involving the ability to make a yoshi use his tongue at any time from any distance without needing to be on him. bizarrely, and i do not understand why, this also allows you to trivially get null sprite just by making him eat something he can hold in his mouth
I deleted my Discord server and unlisted all but one of my YouTube videos. Posting this so people know it was an intentional act. Perpetual key jump tutorial video stays up because people gotta learn to key jump. Anything related to what I am doing will now be here, until the inevitable collapse.
