The Trump Administration thinks only Americans who have a passport should vote. The President doesn’t get to pick which eligible American citizens have the right to vote & 146 million citizens don't have a passport. This is desperate theater and an attempt to distract from their latest failings 👊 🇺🇸🔥
But — 💯 to the point about directed polling designed as PR to hide the real political landscape from public officials and staff.
And really hope no one believes that’s infrastructure 😳
Instead, it’s something that someone perceived to be on the political left does that gets used (by right wing infrastructure…) to represent the whole movement.
(Favorite examples of Dems being out of touch… are often never said by Dems… but by “advocates”)
That’s a media infrastructure piece more than Dems in office supporting unpopular positions.
Many problems with the “brand” aren’t because of something a Democratic official actually does… (sometimes, but often not).
A big problem isn’t that a candidate in a competitive race can’t take unorthodox positions (they do) — it’s that voters assume they believe something else (& without striking ⚡️ + 💵 hard to change this perception)
Often aligned — but $0.02 — this feels a bit trapped in the bubble 🏛️ & assumes there’s a much easier out than we really have without better information & organizing “infrastructure”
The Trump administration is bent on purging government employees. Firing federal employees en masse has negative, long-tail consequences. The FAA air traffic organization staffing shortages are a case in point.
So now we know what Musk’s “move fast and break things” means for us
