Long COVID affects millions of children. The largest pediatric trial so far launches this year. - The Sick Times One NIH study will test low-dose naltrexone, while other upcoming trials will test larozitide and taurine.

Despite Long COVID's toll on millions of children, there are only a handful of clinical trials that include them. @spichaksimon.bsky.social reported on three upcoming pediatric trials.

Multiple friends have caught COVID recently, including some of my more cautious pals. There are a lot of winter germs in crowded places right now, fam. Personally, I never feel that shopping or riding transit unmasked is worth potentially getting sick. You can always renew this practice.

Cook County will experience extreme cold weather for several days starting Thursday morning. The National Weather Service has advised that wind chills will make it feel as cold as -35°F over the next several days. Cook County is opening warming centers in the north, west and south suburbs to help residents combat extreme weather conditions. The warming centers will open at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22 and run continuously until 4:30 p.m. Monday, January 26. Residents who do not have adequate access to heat are advised to seek respite at a warming center. The center locations are as follows: Skokie Courthouse: 5600 Old Orchard Rd., Skokie, IL 60077 Maywood Courthouse: 1500 Maybrook Dr., Maywood, IL 60153 Markham Courthouse: 16501 S.
