A nice day yesterday leading the SOC local group outing to Linwood then my local patch at Newshot Island. Good patch birds present at the latter in the form of a female Long-tailed Duck and 3 female Scaup but couldn't pick out the American Wigeon among the Wigeon horde #BirdingScotland #ClydeBirding

Peregrine falcon family make Glasgow Cineworld new perch The birds were spotted on the roof of the Renfrew Street building during the first two weeks of January.

If you ever come to Glasgow on the bus, diagonally opposite Buchanan Bus Station you'll see the former Cineworld and you may be lucky to see one or both of the Peregrines that have been nesting in spring and summer at Glasgow University but currently seen on the cinema. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

What a day in urban Clyde. 114 Black Tailed Godwits today over 3 sites all in semi urban/urban environments. Also a superb 8 wader species afternoon at Barons Haugh inc 2 Wood Sand, 4 Common, 5 Green, 1RP, 1 Curlew, 56 Lapwing & 1 Redshank. These Blackwits were no more than 50m away! 👍

Along with the Wood Sand, 2 Greenshank also dropped in overnight. A scarce bird in Clyde this year especially during the spring. Both birds failed breeding adults probably.

Unfortunately, due to the weather forecast we've had to cancel the outing on Saturday 14 June to Culter Glen. Apologies to all who were due to join the outing with Scott Black. We'll hopefully rearrange this again for a date next spring. #clydebirding
