Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.

I'm a social democrat, and I didn't respect Trudeau. There was not much in the way of competence, so even those of us on the left would reasonably have a distaste for him.

Nor do you need to have one to understand that things being wrong doesn't mean they can't have positive offshoots.
Doing good can result in bad, too. Shocking, I know.

You're the one boiling it down to things either being all good, or all bad, not me. 300 characters is poor for it indeed, but that doesn't oblige you to argue that's the only lens to view this through.

And you don't have to boil down complex events to being singular good or bad. It's reductive, and leads to a poor understanding of history and geopolitics generally.

WW2 saw the biggest increase in humanities technological and medical understanding. The Holocaust is about the worst thing humanity has done, but that doesn't mean other things weren't occuring at the same time in reaction to it.
Due to the horror of it we had a period of peace unlike it in history

It's like speaking to a rock. Life isn't net zero. Putting the good and bad together, and the bad being more significant doesn't mean there was NO good. Just net bad. And ignoring that there is grey in these events is ignorant at best.

Any sober analysis sees you putting things into good and bad columns of some sort. You don't get to ignore the good column just because the bad column is so much larger. That prevents a useful understanding of events.

Yes, they almost certainly made things worse in Iraq. But that doesn't make things black and white. It was still good to not have him in charge any more. Your thesis was "absolutely no good" occured. I'm just trying to convey that viewing things in such absolutist terms isn't useful.

"Absolutely nothing" is again, hyperbole. Saddam was evil, and him not being in charge was better than him being in charge.
That doesn't justify, it doesn't mean it should have happened. It doesn't mean it was good THAT it happened. Just that it isn't so polar, it isn't net zero

I'm not justifying. You're right. It was wrong and evil. That does not mean there can be positive repercussions. Probably outweighed by the negative ones, but this isn't a zero sum situation.

Things can be grey. There can be good in bad. Trump's war is awful. Attacking Iran is insane. But Iran was also evil, the Ayatollah is/was evil. This may help Ukraine.
Sober thought, and recognition that there are good things happening alongside very very bad things isn't wrong.

Have I somehow managed to fix Jedi Survivor on PC? In this video I return to the troubled PC Version to explain how it still stutters to this day and a potential fix I found that quite dramatically helps the issue. Enjoy this vid!

If they actually enforce these standards on not-for-commercial pickup trucks, this will be more effective than anything done so far. The Trudeau liberals saw poor performance of actual emissions due to poorly thought out exemptions pushing more personal buyers into higher emitting pickups.
