Hi TTRPG people, my calendar is currently free heading into 2026, so I'm looking for more freelance design work! If you're interested you can check out my current portfolio here, which I'll be updating further over the next few months: crypticparlour.com/games
Also (apparently I have thoughts on this), I've had Mums talk in interviews about using it for parenting/child health information. I wonder if there's a women's health > trying to conceive > pregnancy > parenting advice thing going on too, with women getting on at various points in that pipeline
Really interesting. I often get Reddit posts coming up as prominent results on Google.. (without having 'reddit' in my search terms). I wonder if some women are ending up there through Google and then sticking around?
Congrats Dr Berryman!!
This is a great primer for PhD students or ECRs who are interested in doing public facing work
This is great - thanks for sharing!
Planning to start a PhD in Media and Communications in 2026? Come work with me and others at the @qutdmrc.bsky.social! β¨
Yeah this was exactly our experience in Australia. Incredibly frustrating.
The Prime Minister credited 36 Months for convincing him to ban teens from social media.
This group accused experts who opposed the ban of being 'bought' by big tech. Meanwhile, it was lining up brand deals, eyeing global expansion & developing an AI tool to track students

New article in @theconversation.com today reflecting on Australiaβs 2024 loot box regulations and how, 1 year later, there remains widespread non-compliance - and generally really confusing age ratings for mobile games on the App Stores!

Just a week to go until this wonderful event, hosted by my colleague Katrin Langton. Join us online or in-person. See link for registration.
Luxon himself handed me the Prime Minister's science prize last year. Let me say this in plain English: he's an idiot for running a govt who budgeted more for AI than for the Marsden fund. any journo reading this can quote me on it #nzpol

βPrint drafts out and edit by hand.
βRead all the books remotely like the one you're trying to write and a bunch that are completely unrelated but which might help with form, tone or style.
βWrite all the words your damn self.

Congrats Kat! Wonderful to see this work out in the world
Has anyone done or seen any work on the dating app Raya? I have a student who wants to do her verification case study on it, but she (nor I) can find any work on it.
Very understandable
Not yet! I think you mentioned her to me years ago when she was still deciding where to go for the PhD. I figured out that she landed at Curtin and am looking forward to us joining all the dots whenever we finally meet. I'm still in Melbourne and only head to Perth occasionally.
