International Women's Day is 23 hours this year. Women only get 96% of a day
There's something deeply obscene and broken about the fact that Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are bombing elementary schools in an illegal war of aggression, and there's still a sense among the opposition that it has to be explained in terms of gas prices in order to get American voters to care.
βduring a warβ
βHarris also did not expose any daylight between herself and Biden on the Middle East when asked directly if she would be doing anything differently, including limiting arm sales to Israelβ

This is recent, so thereβs more emphasis on the possibility (!) of legal restrictions.
Some background from 2019: www.972mag.com/j-street-aid...
Itβs still on their website
βWe believe that Israel should continue to receive from the United States the full amount of security assistance outlined in the MOU: $3.8 billion per yearβ

Israel has not βdragged the United Stares into war.β
An elite faction of the United States that identifies intensely with the interests of Israel has, with the complaisance of other factions, launched an aggressive war.
Israel figures heavily into Washingtonβs motives but the difference matters.
Also, wasnβt France the main support for Israelβs nuclear program?
No, he doesnβt
She supported unconditionally arming the genocide
J Street has long supported the same amount of unconditional arms to Israel as AIPAC. Until very recently, which presents questions about their commitment.
Do we think we forgot what Biden was supporting and aiding less than two years ago? Do you think the current horror is somehow self-evidently worse?
Iβm old enough to remember when our leaders came up with semi-coherent arguments to start wars. You could refute the arguments and at least feel like there was a chance you might persuade someone.
It wasnβt good, but this is worse. . . .
I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.
100%. Came here to say this.
A lot of Trumpβs support came from βneither left nor rightβ types who think of themselves as freethinkers and get lured in by Greenwald types
article 8bis of the rome statute of the international criminal court
continuation of article 8bis
posting, once again, the well-established definition of the crime of aggression in the rome statute for the ICC
What's missing? The public. Decisions about whether AI can surveil American citizens or autonomously deploy lethal force are being settled in a contract dispute. No Congress. No democratic deliberation. No accountability. We've outsourced questions about the use of force to a corporate negotiation.

When I first looked at your post, I thought you were endorsing Harperβs legitimate point: that Harris failed to clarify the stakes and call out Trumpβs BS βpeaceβ talk.
The comments are reading it like βoh, heβs so dumb he wanted Harris to do more when Trump is so awful.β Which makes no sense
I think a lot of us supporting these reforms believe both parties suck. Instant runoff is fine, but other reforms do more: equal ballot access, multi-member districts, weighted voting, and ideally proportional representation
Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop
And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below π₯Ή)
RIP to the Voice of the Voiceless
Not every one, but the ones at the topβBiden, Harris, Schumer, and Jeffriesβhave been impressively atrocious.
The Gaza genocide is not just morally essential, it also reveals how bankrupt they are. Donors versus the left flank of voters, and these politicians wonβt concede an inch to the latter
You can βfuck it, we need a revolutionβ whenever you feel like it. But saying that does not make a revolution more likely.
More important is to work at the state level to pass reforms that allow third parties to grow and expand
Or just get rid of the opinion section entirely. . . .
Local police not only fail to weed out sociopaths; they consistently *defend* sociopathic behavior when itβs brought to light, sometimes even filmed
The email is from Epstein, no? Heβs saying thatβs what Chomsky said; do we have confirmation?
Exactly. β And LA, Chicago, &c.
βWe donβt stop deportations.β
I believe you!
