My favorite is probably the same thing you’re seeing: every single access of a Microsoft property now gets stuck in a “cannot create keypass” modal. I have never once attempted that.

Yeah it’s a really hard sell even if you’ve done the legwork.

Fundamentally, they want Face ID to trigger a hidden keypass to authenticate anything with passwords as a fallback. It’s technically doable now. It’s just a matter of UX. And relentlessly annoying/broken UI. *glares at microsoft*

Keypasses are fundamentally unspoofable and unreusable as long as the root account isn’t compromised. On paper they’re a big win.

The hassle comes from how they can’t be handed out to different accounts, and initial implementations didn’t sync them around your devices nicely. Rough launch.
