As someone who went on the Internet for the first time in the early 90’s, I fucking loved the Internet. It has given so many things in life, and afforded me so many incredible experiences.

And to see it, and technology in general where they are today is kinda soul crushing.

They show off superior breeding and do tricks. It's as cute as you may imagine.

I still miss my herd, but their lifespans just became so overwhelmingly sad that when I lost the last one that was it. At least it passed on a nearly 3 having been spoiled the whole time.

Sadly I think food safety regulations would frown. The little nuggets are quick and can escape into a teeny space. I spent years rat proofing and never succeeded.

There are rat shows. Like cat and dog shows. Should see if you have one nearby. Or some animal shelters take in ratties too.

Thankfully I went off the grid on my intelligence years ago, so I'm set.

Because it's great for people like him. Low interest rates allow for more borrowing and real estate types love them

So isn't a strong commitment to hiring women into leadership roles basically dei? Something he thinks is pure evil?

Probably not considering Katie Britt comes from Alabama which has basically shut down ivf in the state.

So it'll probably be a lifetime heartache for someone who is infertile and desperately wants a bio kid

Oh, that Katie Britt. In Alabama which basically made ivf illegal. I guess that's the bad things, that it existed.

"So many bad things were happening. I solved it after listening to Katie Britt talk for a couple minutes."

Yeah, believable

Tennessee grandmother jailed after AI facial recognition error links her to fraud Angela Lipps spent nearly six months in jail after AI software linked her to a North Dakota bank fraud case

I hope she can find cause to sue over this. She spent 6 mths in prison, while North Dakota got around to extraditing her, and then was stranded with no funds in a state she'd never been to. Lost her job, her home, etc. All because of a facial recognition error.

Israeli military drops charges against soldiers accused of Gaza detainee abuse Five soldiers were indicted over alleged violent abuse and rape of Palestinian man at detention centre in 2024

I don't know why I'm surprised, but I am. It had seemed so promising that charges happened in the first place.

I'm not convinced it was "AI". Targets are supposed to be approved by a human and from what I've read Hegseth absolutely gutted the department that specifically worked on reducing civilian casualties. He's more interested in moving as quick as possible (my opinion).

Oh they have no problem with killing. Their red lines were *fully autonomous* systems and domestic surveillance. Partially autonomous systems are fine. And ethically they're fine with fully autonomous except they feel the technology isn't there yet. Future models may be.

Turning the world over to madmen. That is what is happening. Madmen.

Plus we may end up in a food crisis as well because of fertilizer shortages during spring plantings in the northern hemisphere. Cause a good % of ingredients transit the straight.

But glad oil companies will be happy! Shell's CEO's pay more than doubled last year.

I always find it interesting how houses are built around the world. We all have different building standards. Though I guess the Americans learned too much from the Brits, cause your floor looks like mine when we did plumbing work 😭

I'd read previously that if a country pulls out of a world cup they could be disqualified forever. And with as close as Trump is to FIFA head..... argh

It's pretty common in new American homes too. Just depends on the part of the country what foundation type they go for. I've never lived somewhere that wasn't built like that, but I hear slabs happen in areas with different soils.

AI fakes spread disinformation. Is the distrust they create even worse? Manipulated images undermine our shared realityβ€”and the democracy built upon it.

I'm going to share this story one more time, because I think the problem it describes -- being unable to determine what is true online or in the news, and just giving up entirely on trying -- is going to get more and more common. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

She is not a centrist. She's endorsed universal healthcare and she's one of the most ardently pro-trans rights politicians in America. If you think she's a centrist you're direly misinformed and you have got to educate yourself before you keep posting stupid shit about there being no good choices.

12.03.2026 03:03 πŸ‘ 236 πŸ” 38 πŸ’¬ 6 πŸ“Œ 1

Every time I see people describe Janet Mills as a centrist I realize there is an imaginary Janet Mills that exists in people's brains that they've invented out of whole cloth in order to justify supporting Platner, and then when Platner was exposed as a Nazi they just refused to update their priors.

I'd sell at least some of my equity if I could, but the secondary market is tough when, while past employers were quite successful, they weren't household name successful

I was an early employee at several startups 😁. So it was more enjoying the 0 to 1 phase that drove it.

Thankfully I'm well diversified in non private companies, but it's hard not to sigh at value evaporating when I was in the first 5 employees at at least one unicorn and a couple other successes.

12.03.2026 05:39 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

No. But I think shoving it in is what appeals partly to investors, and admittedly to a class of buyers looking for what's hot.

I think there will be some long term successes. But a lot of vaporware failure along with business models that don't survive in this new world.
