I keep thinking about this idea I read years ago. Candidates (depending on their role) get the same amount of money from taxes. Media loses billions on advertising, candidates are forced to knock doors and hold town halls, like actually hear from their constituents. Has this ever come up?

Many democrats, including Biden were very strong in their beliefs. They just kept them personal and did not impose them on others. Jasmine was also a Baptist, just not as vocal about it. I think you would be surprised how many have strong beliefs, but they keep it personal.
