Answering questions from Police Federation members, the Home Secretary rejected claims that police forces are βinstitutionally racistβ. That's what Braverman means by a "βcampaign against political correctnessβ - the same as always, cover for state racism www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crim...

The surprising thing isn't so much the tactic - an intimidation tactic calculated to stir fear in relation to local beliefs. The surprising this is that Amazon gold cartels have access to fucking JETPACKS
So, I just did some reading on this and, yeah, looks like alluvial gold mining gangs in the Amazon used fucking jetpacks and dressed up as aliens to attack indigenous people this year.
this came to me in a dream and idk what to do with the idea so you all have to suffer with me
Deforestation in the Amazon is threatening South American monsoon patterns. If this study is correct, we are on the verge of a *rapid* decline in rainfall, of up to 30% present rates. This is the rainforest's death knell.
This is the whole point of AI. Itβs not to actually replace humans. Itβs to change your title from βhead writerβ to βassistant AI technician,β not credit you, and pay you half of what you were paid before
Labour will, of course, dutifully doff the cap to whatever capital demands.
Some of this gibberish will make it into attempts at what passes for policy in Britain today, some of it won't. The point, however, is to prepare for the most vile culture war shit you've ever seen when Labour inevitably take the reigns.
The Tory Party conference this year has been a circus of absurdity and reaction on a scale eclipsing any of their prior efforts. They have nothing but PR massaged violence to offer. An opposition in waiting, preparing to consolidate the far-right around it for the long haul.
This is chilling.

As we said last year: "Capitalism is not only destroying its own capacity to create food... It is ending the environmental conditions which have allowed for agricultural production per se."
The food crisis is just starting.

This is not the first time British troops have been sent to Ukraine since February 2022, however. They've been there for the duration of this phase of the war (and before but that's a distinct thing).
One big factor in why Britain is particularly aggressive over Ukraine: Shell secured a 50 year exclusive deal to exploit the natural gas fields in the east of Ukraine, between Kharkiv and Donetsk, in late 2013. The outbreak of war has stopped the investment from realisation.
To be clear: this is the first time since February 2022 that British troops will be deployed in Ukraine *openly*. That is a major escalation, verging on catastrophic. Whether or not the troops are there for training (doubt), the potential for open direct conflict is huge.

The second volume of Capital is absolutely fucking insufferable to try and translate into supplementary study aids and pedagogic materials.

βThe low streamflows in rivers across Alberta this year are unprecedented. In Calgary, he said the Bow River is at about half its normal level.β

What I mean isn't the chauvinist "class analysis first" shit. What I mean is that following the bourgeois media and its provocations down every rabbit hole or focusing on individuals to nauseous obsession is doing neither class analysis nor solidarity with oppressed people.
It feels futile to say that to not be beaten by the culture war shit, the left needs to stop biting at this point. Focus on signifiers and individuals above conditions, policy and class throughout the online left seems pretty ubiquitous, to the point of compulsivity.
