Mayor Douglas joined crews yesterday to see how the new electric curbside truck runs and operates. The new truck is now in operation, picking up curbside materials on all routes, replacing one of the old diesel trucks that was at the end of its useful life. Wave if you see us out on your route! π

Work is on schedule and the equipment is mostly installed. Crews are turning their attention to the engineered wood fibre surfacing and final touches. We expect the playground to be ready for climbing, swinging, & exploring in early March.

Beginning work in North Cowichan to reduce unsafe Highway 1 crossings
New fencing will guide pedestrians to signalized crosswalks near Quwβutsun Secondary school
The province will begin their safety upgrades along the highway between James St and Beverly St this Sunday, Feb 1. Construction will take place at night with lane closures between 8pm and 5:30am. Learn more π
