Like, everyone wishes to be good at art I think, but so many people hold contempt for artists. Many people get celebrated for their talents, but with artists it is usually only in retrospect or by fellow artists. AI is just a symptom of this in my book

For me, it's more about what it represents. The use of generative ai as a replacement for artists is an insult to art itself because it flattens art to mere product. It suggests that artists aren't measured in the substance of what they make, just the function it serves
