Trump has threatened tariffs on many countries for a lot of reasons. Today he said he’d “tariff Denmark at a very high level” if it refused to cede Greenland to the US. That would drive up prices for American consumers on products ranging from hearing aids and Legos to popular drugs like Ozempic.
It's not just young soldiers who fantasize about shooting liberals, there's a whole bunch of MAGAts who want a civil war so they can do just that. There are a lot of militias that would join them, as well.
Trump's agenda to turn neighbor on neighbor & target protestors will surely turn violent.
This is why Trump is so popular in the military community. My drill sergeant would yell and scream, call us anything but our names, make us exercise until we vomited, and then laugh at us. This is the authority figure who starts most military careers. Thus, many leaders aspire to this.
To compound this issue, there exists a certain dominant authoritarian subculture within the military. Authoritarians are glorified, worshipped, rewarded, and often promoted faster. They are viewed as more confident and dominant, even if (and sometimes because) they are abusive.
