In 1968 Finland banned for profit education, the few private schools that exist in Finland have to reinvest any profit they make or pay it back to parents.
It has been in the Top 3 in education for the last 20 years.
There should be no profit in education or healthcare.
Telling how confident Starmer now feels in owning his Iran decision. His best outing against Badenoch at PMQs in months. KB not alone in shifting her position. Many of those in the press and politics demanding war and condemning Starmer loudest have been far quieter since the inevitable chaos began.
Badenoch said if she was prime minister HMS Dragon would have left a week ago. Presumably with its doors hanging off and with no weapons onboard.
Wonderful
Can you feel the rhythm of renewal?
"Everything New" & "Seasons Change" are at Jane Gallery for βHeart Rhythms,β exploring the link between our inner lives and the natural world - growth, decay, and the steady beat of starting again.

It's no longer OK for you to sit in the house of Lords because your dad did.
But if your mate put you there?
That's fine.
Neither of these really feel like democracy to me.
Excellent - not like you had much going on
Thrilled to be working with @channel4tv.bsky.social on a new documentary on Keir Starmer's govt. It'll examine how he became the most unpopular PM on record and how the seeds of the unpopularity were sown long ago. And whether he can recover.
Out end of March!

Starmer: βPresident Trump has expressed his disagreement with our decision not to get involved in the initial strikes, but it is my duty to judge what is in Britainβs national interest. That is what I have done, and I stand by it.β
Round of applause for you Starmer

A picture of Justin Strnad in a Broncos uniform. Headline. Broncos signing linebacker to a 3-year, $18 million contract.β
I remember when he was born, playing ball in the backyard with him, buying him Madden every year for his birthday growing up. As proud as I am of his accomplishments on the football field I am even more proud of the man he has become. Proud day for my family.
Iβm just curious if any of the disgusting juvenile delinquents making the ridiculous war glorification videos for the White House ever served in combat. Or even served in the military at all.
Perhaps theyβre the same person?!
I'm sure it's just a massive coincidence that they used all the same words, ideas and punctuation.
The search for me in Clacton enters its 87th week.
I dream of Charles doing a Love Actually His and Starmerβs popularity would go through the roof
The King is supposed to be visiting the USA *next month*. This is the definition of a diplomatic nightmare. In all seriousness, I would urge him to pull a sickie.
Brilliant programme - never miss an episode
Rare Earth logo and QR code link to BBC Radio 4 Rare Earth: Should we still have zoos?
Should zoos still exist? In 2026, how do the arguments about research, conservation and education stack up? This week's Rare Earth was a proper tennis match of ideas, with a brilliant panel. If you fancy some stimulating debate this weekend, listen here: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Headline writers are failed journalists
Times front page with banner reading βWhy men my age want wives to obeyβ
This headline is not actually telling the story of the article - which is the writerβs genuine concern at those new stats. But it was a headline that made my heart sink - it feels like any news coverage should be very clearly a condemnation of such backwards thinking
Yes you read that right, new mortgages are Β£1,500 cheaper on average with Labour.
World Book day, always good to get children to read but it's become a competition for best costume and a money spinner for shops and of course Amazon who are happy to sell you a costume. Not every family has the time, money or skills to make bloody fancy dress costumes, it's not about books anymore.
Badenoch, Farage and UKβs far-right media keep pandering to this orange wankstein.
