The Trump administration will somehow make $10 billion off the TikTok deal The unusually large fee comes after the president brokered the sale of the company's US operations to investors allied with his administration.

The fee is about *70 percent* of the new US TikTok’s $14 billion valuation

I feel like Graham Platner's weird and fucked up posts about war don't get enough attention, so here they are, and also its worth pointing out he was calling Iraq a fun adventure where he killed people (fun!) in 2020, he registered his Senate website less than 3 years later in April 2023

Everyone Now Has Trump’s Phone Number The president’s personal iPhone has been lighting up.

It used to be a pretty rare thing to call a president directly. But since the US attacked Iran two weeks ago, Trump has answered more than three dozen phone calls from journalists representing at least a dozen outlets. They’ve decided to cheat with ChatGPT, saying: β€œHello chat, I’m going to upload four pictures and a couple of minutes (they probably meant in.. omg 😭) I need you to give me the answers for every problem, do not explain how to get the answer, just show me the answer and the slight work for it if it needs it. If it’s an ABCD question, immediately give me the answer.”

ChatGPT replies: β€œGot it” and gives them the instructions back in full and tells them to go ahead and upload the images.

They got their test back, their result is an F, who could’ve seen that coming right?

This text to ChatGPT reads: Chat let me know how I got an F.

ChatGPT: You probably got an F, because many of the answers I gave you earlier were wrong.

It then proceeds to show them the correct answers from the test.

The crime is not just the killing of people who surrender. The crime is telling the enemy that if they surrender, they will be killed. Because when the enemy hears that they cannot surrender peaceably, the war changes from a strategic conflict to a blood-soaked deathmatch.

Ossoff: "The WH put out a video depicting this war as a video game. When service members are returning in flag-draped coffins, & even more have lost limbs or suffered brain injuries or are fighting for their lives, this WH treats war like a game. It's a disgrace. And it speaks to a moral rot."

Let's be clear: you would not be pulling THAADs from South Korea and moving a Marine Expeditionary Unit from Japan to the Gulf two weeks after launching a war on Iran if you had properly anticipated the fallout it would be likely to cause.

The thing about this is (1) Hegseth manages to look bad regardless, and (2) even if he didn't, turning these things into clown shows means fewer people are going to bother with it, so it's less effective as propaganda.

The "neutral" press *help* competent administrations get their message out.

In the 2010s both the US and Israel assessed that a war on Iran would be disastrous and become a regional war, that Iran could retaliate by striking US assets in the region, encouraging resistance groups to strike US/Israel and close the Strait of Hormuz - literally everything that’s happening now

Trump posted this meme.

Obama’s Iran deal did unfreeze Iran’s own money, but allowed for nuclear inspectors so they wouldn’t ever get a nuclear bomb.

Trump tore up the deal, started a war in Iran, and now 13 U.S. soldiers are dead.

Don't. Print. Lies. In. The. Newspapers.

Jared Kushner holds no government position at all. He is not a Senate-confirmed political appointee & his "special peace envoy" job is completely fake. This is wildly illegal & unconstitutional nepotistic corruption. Stop normalizing it in the papers.

Living in Scandinavia, I find myself morbidly fascinated by American progressives' inability to understandβ€”or acknowledgeβ€”that the secret to a healthy, functioning welfare state is broad middle-class buy-in. Everyone pays somethingβ€”some more than others; everyone gets somethingβ€”some more than others

Denial of quarterβ€”even the declaration of no quarterβ€”is a war crime.

And recognized as such by the US Government.
