Dyerβs Greenweed
Saw-wort
Pepper Saxifrage
Adderβs Tongue
Some of the indicators of continuity of management found within some of Worcestershireβs neutral grasslands this week during some data collection. π
Petty Whin (Genista anglica)
Lousewort (Pedicularis sylvatica)
Grey Hair-grass (Corynephorus canescens)
Just some botanical highlights from Worcestershire earlier this month - a county rich in unimproved grasslands. Particularly pleased to have finally ticked grey hair-grass off my bucket list. β
Adder's-tongue (Ophioglossum vulgatum)
Green-winged Orchid (Anacamptis morio)
Pleased to have been awarded a grant by the Botanical Research Fund to support fieldwork for research on the state of the genetic diversity of ancient grassland indicator species in the UK. Can't wait to get out in the field later this year and collect some samples! π±
Agreed!! Will get pester them to get on BlueSky π

Myself (Katherine) presenting a poster on a project to provide the tools to aid in the identification of high nature value ancient grasslands.
What a wonderful way to end the year #BES2024 was. I met so many intelligent and insightful individuals and got to hear about some brilliant projects. Feeling very grateful to have been able to attend and to talk about my project (zoom in on the poster for details!!). π±β¨
