right. The argument isnt that USAID is bad. Its that the world system enforced mostly by the US and its vassals is terrible. Part of that system that legitimizes it to some degree to some people (obviously many US liberals) is foreign aid.

no, it isnt. the US is the center of world capitalism that upholds, in fact mandates, massive injustices and misery. We also took some of the edge off by giving aid. The aod was real, it helped people. It also upheld the system of brutal exploitation.

My understanding of the left argument is that the harm in general by US hegemony far outweighs our charitable enterprises, which are real. I actually think it is undeniably true.
