Very cool. In my experience the more you play these things the more the “problems” will show themselves and you can weed them out. Keep creating.

I know this is a cash grab but... please let there be Secret Lair: Rock, Paper, Scissors!!
Well, I gotta second that.
Hey, Dean! I was trying to combine the two decks in some way but failed. Dean thought of it and it works better than you’d expect. Thanks, Dean! So fun.
So I have two “fishy” Magic variants. Forgetful Fish and Red Hot Seizoned Fish. Here is a fun thing to do if you build them both. docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Saturdays are for the fish @magicstorytime.bsky.social @clairetheegg.bsky.social
It was a ton of fun!
Well I have my quick-start cards for players to just grab and play a game they maybe know nothing about. Here is the FF one. But it doesn’t answer questions that may arise like I try with my google doc primers.
My favorite thing about the viral rise of Dandan is that it inspired others to create Magic variants and experiment with the game. Magic has always been a sandbox game. Get in the box, and let’s play.

I don’t think I’m spoiling anything by saying that here.
Basically one less cost and the rest of the list they felt was steered enough away from a decking end game that they felt the 10 card exile and the possible recursion from the graveyard was moot. And they liked that ending the turn was another cost of casting it. Basically.
Hope we get to play a game at Shoebox next month.
This is a card they used in the Dandan Secret Lair that I discussed with the design team on Thursday asking why they chose it over the Diminishing Returns in my original Forgetful Fish list. The reasons totally make sense. But like a cube, Dandan is customizable and choices are subjective.
That’s my friend Miguel’s variant. Miguel is one of the members of my Twin Cities, Maverick’s: the Gathering variant play group. My favorite thing about the viral ride of Dandan is how it has inspired others to experiment with the game. Here is Miguel’s Moxfield for it. moxfield.com/decks/Vg1VI3...
Thanks Dean. The best new variant I played was Red Fish, Blue Fish, which, of course, is combining my Forgetful Fish and Red Hot Seizoned Fish in a 2-HG team thing, which you know. Cause it was your idea. Thanks.
Yes. I should have both Red Herring variants with me. Miguel is lone me Sushi if he can’t make the con,
See ya there. I’m super excited.
I encourage all players to experiment with the game. Magic is a sandbox game, really.
Five of them are friends’ variants. I release Google Doc primers, like I did with Forgetful Fish, when I’m finally happy with them. Links to all that I’ve released can be found in the description of each of my YouTube videos.
I got to hang out at WotC HQ today. And meet a whole bunch of cool people. And play some Magic variants. And look what they gave me. So cool.
My newest video. A compilation of all the trivia I’ve asked so far. m.youtube.com/watch?v=4lwE...
I will be attending as a guest host, showcasing Dandan and other variants. There will be a “competitive" Dandan event and all kinds of interesting Magic events and casual play space, vendors and Magic Artists. I’d love to sign your Dandans and try out your own Magic variants. Website Shoebox.gg
Very excited to announce that the Twin Cities Brew Crew will be hosting a @shoebox.gg pre-convention party!
We will be raising money for @miracmn.bsky.social and the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund.
It will be a blast so come out and support a good cause!
I will probably get the chance to play Dandan with Cal again! Actually, we didn’t play Dandan the first time we met. He just schooled me a Trippin’ and we both lost to Braden in a game of RPS Magic. Hope to fix that. Dandan. Not winning at Trippin’. I’m just plain bad at Trippin’.
Stitcher's Supply will be AT @shoebox.gg!! That's right, we're joining the ranks of vendors at this awesome community event. Keep an eye out for some cool stuff we'll be selling there - AND a Pick Up at Shoebox shipping option going live on Friday. :) We're SOOOO HYPE
#shoebox2026
Prefect Dandan bling!
The Forgotten Pixels playmat is available for preorder all month btw - so you have a lot of time left to get an order it, but not like a LOT of time left, you know what I'm sayin?
