I mean, news headlines always have us believe that it was the car on its own that caused the accident. “Car overturns, causes crash”.

Increasing supply decreases price? What a new and surprising concept.
I'm strongly against this law because it will have dire impacts on free speech. However, a personal responsibility rebuke is not sufficient. Social media companies need to be made accountable and we cannot just say this is the problem of parents.
Democrats should be champions for free speech / free access to information. Social media has big issues and there are big companies to be held accountable. Using a blanket ban by age is a blunt tool that will severely limit free speech and will not limit the power of these companies.
The consequence of this is that social media sites will have to do age verification (which most of them will gladly do). A blanket ban by age is a very blunt tool.
Stack of freshly made pita bread.
Pita bread baking in a skillet.
Stack of raw rolled out pitas.
We wanted to make Falafels with pita bread but the store had no pita bread left. So, I made some.
Every time I pass through #Renton in #KingCounty #Washington I cannot help but think that it could be such a great city if its city council could just get over its hate for people outside cars.
Parenting then: Don't talk to strangers.
Parenting now: Don't talk to strange robots.
Can’t, because I wasn’t planning to use the car this week.
Germany unfortunately has no business asking that question with the wide support the AFD has.
The current #TechnologyConnections episode is awesome, especially the 2nd ending. Go watch it.
I cannot attend any of the physical bicycle rides in honor of #AlexPretti and am looking to do something virtual instead. I could not find any such event. I might just do something solo. But if you know a #zwift event for it, let me know.
Finland hat das sehr erfolgreich gemacht unter dem Namen Housing First.
I wonder how many electric bicycles crash into store fronts in that world. Because in this world, there are 100 cars crashing into store fronts in the USA on an average day.
I wish I would live in your world where the most dangerous thing on the road is an electric bike. Where is that?
„Das regelt schon der Markt, na klar, das ränkt sich alles ein
Und außerdem es müssen ja nicht alle glücklich sein“ — #FunnyVanDannen
I hope it gets repealed.
These car roads are such a waste given they cannot be used by cars half the year.
All caps, bold face, and multiple exclamation marks. This comment has it all. Obviously this is a very serious and thoughtful individual.
According to the Storefront Safety Council, there are around 100 such incidents per day in the US. Install bollards! Protected bicycle lanes also make streets safer for everyone.
Once again we are in a situation were the bicycle is a good tool to fight fascism (and that includes electric bicycles).
Just remember what soap in Fight Club was made of.
Oh you all just wait until Chuck Schumer will address the attack on Venezuela with stern words!
The best thing he did was a nice book about Lisp. It goes downhill from there. He is best known for the incubator YCombinator and Hacker News, aka the orange site. The latter used to have interesting tech news but devolved into a tech bro echo chamber.
Today’s Bsky drama:
- Maybe cities should not be so car dependent?
- OMG, they comin for rural cars. This means war.
And South Africa was like “hold my beer”.
I think Astrid Lindgren wrote about something similar.
I like the show "The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy" and I'm wondering about the graphical style. It reminds me of early high-resolution (for the time) but low color depth (<= 256 colors, often just 16) computer artwork. I assume that is on purpose but I cannot find it discusses anywhere.
It changes with altitude, not simply place to place. Over 50% live below 500m. At 2000m, the boiling point is still at 93°C. So, the error rate is negligible for most people.
This made me curious about prior art. Thomy started to package its mustard in tubes in 1934 (not squeeze bottles though).
Beaverton Foods call themselves the squeeze bottle pioneer as they developed squeeze bottles for mustard after being approached w/ the idea in 1986.
