Rising temps haven't helped.

Even Against Tyranny, America Must Not Lose Its Way Confronting Iran’s Brutality Without Abandoning Our Principles

War demands law, strategy, and honesty. We’ve been given none of the three.

I wrote about what that means for America β€” and what comes next.

The Best and Worst of USA Hockey’s Brotherhood, All at Once For just a few hours, Americans were able to enjoy double hockey gold. Then politics came crashing through the men’s locker room door.

This by @katiebakes.bsky.social really sums up all the feelings I had when the short lived unifying moment of glory went to hell on Sunday.

John Oliver and team do a great job here of explaining how Twitter/X is a cesspool and why you shouldn’t go anywhere near it. Only thing it misses is new research showing that its right-biased algorithm β€œworks” in that it shifts users’ views rightward. www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7ZG...

One of the first things we were taught at Quantico was that there is never a moment in which you are not representing the Bureau; but, then again, we earned our place there, and weren’t granted its directorship as a sinecure for partisan malfeasance and a willingness to disregard the constitution.

CIVIL CASE NO. SA-26-CV-415-FB Β§ OPINION AND ORDER OF THE COURT

Civics lesson to the government: Administrative warrants issued by the executive branch to itself do not pass probable cause muster. That is called the fox guarding the henhouse. The
Constitution requires an independent judicial officer.
Accordingly, the Court finds that the Constitution of these United States trumps this
administration's detention of petitioner Adrian Conejo Arias and his minor son, L.C.R. The Great Writ
and release from detention are GRANTED pursuant to the attached Judgment.
Observing human behavior confirms that for some among us, the perfidious lust for unbridled
power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds and are bereft of human decency. And
the rule of law be damned.

Ultimately, Petitioners may, because of the arcane United States immigration system, return to
their home country, involuntarily or by self-deportation. But that result should occur through a more
orderly and humane policy than currently in place.
