It's very funny because even the animated shows and movies I liked growing up that you wouldn't at all call anime often still had most of the animation work done via outsourcing to various Japanese animation studios trained on an art style

Is that really true though? I feel like most anime are exceptionally cheaply produced. If it's just sheer quantity of ones you like I think that might honestly just be because animation as a whole is still Japanese dominated in some way
