Oh shut up you whining twat. Statistics show otherwise. I was tempted by a rational argument but that would require basic logic (which is clearly not your strong point). Maybe a picture will help?

Shock horror Kate from the internet makes up statistic to fit her warped narrative. Meanwhile 84% of drivers in the UK break 20mph speed limits (an actual statistic). Did you know that excessive speed is a leading cause of pedestrian deaths and serious injuries? Stop pretending you care about safety

Amazing how much space there is in Londonโ€™s โ€œnarrowโ€ residential streets when you deal with the real problem - space annexed to private motor vehicle storage.

In 3 months one man destroys the entire rules based order, wrecks global economies, and lays the ground for WW3. And yet, successive US Presidents were unable to implement the most basic gun controls. American politics is cooked.

Starmer is pulling off the seemingly impossible task of pandering to an egotistical narcissist while being firm when a line crossed by the Trump clown regime. Every word is considered. It really is a masterclass in international diplomacy, domestic politics and human decency.

Walk Ride GM is appalled by remarks that have come to light today from Andrew Gwynne MP and local councillors, in which they made light of a local campaigner being run over by a heavy goods vehicle. That elected representatives would joke about such a traumatic incident speaks volumes about the contempt some politicians have for road violence.

Every year, more than 80 cyclists are killed on British roads, people who set out on their bikes and never return home due to the unacceptable dangers they face. Dismissing or mocking those affected by road violence undermines the urgent need for action to make our streets safer.

It is disgraceful that instead of engaging with constituents advocating for safer roads, local politicians are ridiculing those who highlight the risks that cyclists face every day. We demand an apology from the local Labour Party in Greater Manchester for these comments and a commitment to treating road danger as the serious issue it is.

We ask the Secretary of State for Transport,
Heidi Alexander, to meet with Walk Ride GM
to discuss how the Government intends to address the concerns of campaign groups advocating for an end to road violence - starting with ensuring that their own MPs and councillors engage with the issue with the gravity it deserves.

The average weight of cars sold in Europe increased by 21% between 2001 and 2022, leading to increased consumption of public space, heavier vehicles, reduced road safety, poorer visibility, and declining air quality. Autobesity

"They came in dribs and drabs, the unwanted, the uninvited and the unloved. First to arrive in Washington was Liz Truss, wearing a red Maga hat and a bright blue coat looking like an extra in a Paddington Bear film."

Cycling Bluesky. Thoughts on best cycling route from Twickenham to Hammersmith? I'd like to avoid the A316 if possible. Richmond Park then Putney?

Next scene....?

Absolutely! The time savings are largely imagined. In reality congestion from other drivers, traffic lights and junctions mean that journey times a barely affected. Anyone cycling in a town or city will testify to this as they reach their destination more quickly in a far more sustainable way.

I heard this on R4 too and thought that this is just the thing to garner more support for 20mph limits. The fact that drivers see a small drop in insurance premiums as more important than saving the life of a real human child, speaks volumes about the problem we face with indoctrinated entitlement.

16.01.2025 08:08 ๐Ÿ‘ 11 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's actually worse. Many people empathise with the driver, claiming it was the result of a 'medical episode' (if you believe that). If you dare mention the the dead kids and their broken families, you get accused of exploiting a terrible 'accident' to further an agenda. Carbrain is wild.

I thought Liz Truss was the benchmark in ineptitude but Badenoch looks set to surpass that. How truly rotten and desperate must the Tories be to select these two as 'leaders'. The only saving grace is I may live to see a dignified adult @eddavey.libdems.org.uk lead the official opposition.
