Having said that, PHEVs clearly still burn a significant amount of fuel as they use the engine most of the time, even if charged and using the battery. Making them less attractive than manufactures would want us to believe.
It’s the owner’s behavior and reason for purchasing it (tax breaks…?) that matters more than the car itself I suspect…

One of the most interesting observations I’ve found so far in the actual study is that for over 11,000 Porsche PHEVs, which have travelled an average of 27,000km, they were on average charged up only 7kWh.. that’s about 1 full charge!
