Having said that, PHEVs clearly still burn a significant amount of fuel as they use the engine most of the time, even if charged and using the battery. Making them less attractive than manufactures would want us to believe.

It’s the owner’s behavior and reason for purchasing it (tax breaks…?) that matters more than the car itself I suspect…

I mean, the article doesn’t really explain the data very well.

One of the most interesting observations I’ve found so far in the actual study is that for over 11,000 Porsche PHEVs, which have travelled an average of 27,000km, they were on average charged up only 7kWh.. that’s about 1 full charge!

Ok, thanks. That makes sense sense :-)

Interestingly, that then means a bigger inflation number means a bigger tax break? Does that set up some strange incentives?

Could you explain what about the statement is wrong? I’m not familiar with how CGT works, so it’s not obvious why this is such a mistake! Thanks

Please remember, every time you see a newspaper or magazine article denigrating people - people like myself - who choose to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2, there will always be a tiny, quiet voice in the mind of the author whispering, 'what if they're right'?

We are right.

“…and possibly airborne particles.”

Shall we assume ‘yes’ from the outset this time around..?

@flomask.bsky.social - yeah those are available and can get delivered to Aus - I guess that’s cheaper! However we don’t need the strap/bag so seems a bit wasteful. $40 for 2 foam inserts still seems kinda nuts!

Do you think the 5 pack of inserts will be available on Amazon in the future?

Amazon.com

Happy to use Amazon.com (already use it for some items) but the kids condensation inserts don’t show up on there. The adult Pro ones do. Maybe it’s because I have delivery set as Australia? Do you have a direct link to the item?

@flomask.bsky.social - is there any way to get the kids condensation filters (AUD$15 for 5 pack) in Australia without paying AUD$103 shipping fee?!

Which ai tool is that? I can’t make Dall-e accept anything with the c-word as it apparently doesn’t follow their content policy 🫢

Protonmail or Fastmail.

They have different pros and cons.

Protonmail are doing Black Friday discounts which are always very good value (they do it every year). Free version has limits - paying for email seems strange but when you consider how important it is, a few $ a month is pretty reasonable!
