A friend of ours bought the Aldi Espresso Martini flavoured Wensleydale cheese last Christmas. I had to try it 'for research purposes'.

At the Angel Hotel? It's great isn't it? Took my partner there for her birthday. She liked the room we were in cod we cold look across to the bakery and see what pastries they were trolleying in. We are deeply shallow people!

I went on a fantastic cheese making course at the River cottage. The cheese we made to take home and mature we covered in natural beeswax. This means you don't have to continually wash the rind and you're less likely to get the ingress of unwanted moulds and bacteria. Tasted great too!

If you want good cheese from Abergavenny - Y Fenni - go to the Angel bakery. They have a fantastic selection of Welsh cheeses. We make a trip there from Cheltenham especially for the cheese and the coffee!

I've got a good scanner. But these days I would use my phone. The quality is so good and it's a lot easier than going through the faff of sticking photos on a platen glass....
